  Description

  Excavated in advance of construction of the N9/N10 Kilcullen-Waterford Road (Excavation Licence number E2586). Located in wet ground. Four troughs, two of which contained timber planks in their bases, and a number of pits and postholes were uncovered. Most of the cuts were filled with deposits of heat shattered stones and charcoal. Shallow spreads of burnt mound material were uncovered at three locations. One pit (CW007-105----) extended beyond the limit of the road corridor. A pit (max. excavated dimensions: L 2.26m; Wth 1.6m; D 0.63m) which was re-cut twice and contained burnt stones, animal bones and charcoal. Associated with the fulacht fia (CW007-104----).   Description

  Excavated in advance of construction of the N9/N10 Kilcullen-Waterford Road (Excavation Licence number E2575). A burnt spread (L 21.4m, Wth 19m D 1.2m) and five troughs and six pits were uncovered. Three of the troughs contained evidence for timber lining. The only find was a Bann flake which was interpreted as a stray find and not directly associated with the monument.   Detached four-bay two-storey double-pile house with dormer attic, c. 1725, on an asymmetrical plan with projecting chimney breasts. Renovated, c. 1840, with Tudor Revival façade enrichments added including stepped gable, crenellations, turret finials and paired chimney stacks.
