Description
On SSW-facing slope, overlooking Clonakilty Bay to SW. Rectangular enclosure defined by earthen bank; D-shaped extension at SW corner. Earliest headstones noted date to 1810s; still in use. Description
In graveyard (CO135-060001-) much ruined rectangular church (int. 15.55m E-W; int. 5.65m N-S). E and W walls almost entirely collapsed; drawing by Webster (1932, 275) shows lintelled door in W wall. Inner facing of N wall survives (H c. 2m); line of S wall preserved for 8.8m from SE corner; stone built into inner S face; chest tomb built on western line of S wall. Rectangular stone trough set into inner face of N wall (H 0.3m; 0.5m x 0.4m). Church of Templeomalus parish; "lately burned by accident" in 1615 (Webster 1932, 276). Description
In pasture, on S-facing slope. Roughly circular area (50m N-S; 56m E-W) enclosed by earth and stone bank (max H 2.15m). Gap (Wth 3m) in bank to W. Interior raised on S side to compensate for hillslope; possible inner bank survives as scarp (H 0.65m) SE->SW. Description
In pasture on a S-facing slope in an area of undulating farmland. A small circular enclosure (diam. c. 15m) is visible as the cropmark of a fosse in an aerial photograph (CUCAP, AVL 49). The area indicated on the map is under long grass for silage and no archaeological features were noted at ground level.
