The development will contain a foul sump, storm sump, valve chamber, lifting gantries, access stairs, control house with MV Substation, storm tank, interconnecting pipework and chambers, overflow pipework and chambers from storm tank to river Blackwater, twin rising mains to WWTP at Ballyellis, flow meter chambers, odour control equipment, 2.4m high boundary fence, access gate, access roads, hardstanding areas, landscaping and all associated site development and site excavation works above and below ground. Existing pump station to be decommissioned and above ground structure demolished on completion. 3. Upgrade of sections of the sewer network in Mallow comprising construction of pipelines and chambers in fields, public open spaces, roads and footpaths in the townlands of Ballyellis, Bearforest Lower, Ballydahin, Carhookeal, Quartertown Lower, Castlelands, Mallow, Annabella, Lackanalooha, Kilknockan and Spa Glen. Pipelines will include a crossing of the river Blackwater between Castlelands and Bearforest Lower east of Mallow Bridge. A Natura Impact Statement (NIS) will be submitted to the Planning Authority with this application.

  Description

  Detached three-bay two-storey over basement house, built c. 1805 and rebuilt c. 1925, facing west, with central projecting bowed entrance bay to front elevation, three-bay side elevations, southern having gabled breakfront, five-bay two-storey over half-basement rear elevation, and with two-bay single-storey flat-roofed addition and further two-bay single-storey hipped-roofed garage extension to north elevation. Hipped slate roof with overhanging sheeted eaves, cast-iron rainwater goods and rendered chimneystacks. Rendered pediment and pitched slate roof to breakfront. Moulded render cornice to bow. Painted rendered walls with dressed limestone plinth and quoins. Dressed limestone stringcourse between floors of façade. Dressed limestone entablature to ground floor of bow comprising fluted engaged columns, architrave, frieze and cornice with attic course having circular recessed panels with carved surrounds flanking central rectangular recessed panel with lettering in relief. Square-headed openings with timber sliding sash windows throughout with dressed limestone sills. Six-over-six pane to first floor and to bow, panes of latter vertically arranged. Nine-over-nine pane to ground floor, windows of front elevation being tripartite and set in segmental-headed recessed panels with dressed limestone tympanums having carved circular panels with floral motifs, and lights separated by render pilasters with moulded decorative brackets. Triparite nine-over-nine pane window to north elevation set into segmental-headed recess with cut limestone details similar to ground floor windows of front elevation, but with render tympanum and cornice. North elevation also has evidence of being formerly five-bay. Square-headed window openings to basement with and one-over-one pane windows. Square-headed door opening to front elevation with timber panelled door, timber doorcase comprising pilasters with square-headed recessed panels and decorative caps, timber architrave and moulded cornice and margined overlight. Approached by curved flight of dressed limestone steps. Square-headed opening to breakfront with timber panelled door, flanked by timber fluted Ionic-style columns, with decorative architrave, ornate frieze and cornice. Flanking bays of south elevation have square-headed openings with fixed timber French doors approached by flights of dressed limestone steps.

  Detached three-bay single-storey gate lodge, built c.1860, with gabled centre. Now in private residential use. Pitched artificial slate roof with rendered chimneystack and decorative timber bargeboards and eaves boards. Painted rendered walls on rendered plinth with channelled pilasters to corners. Square-headed door opening with glazed timber panelled double doors. Square-headed window openings with margined two-over-two pane timber sash windows. Rendered panelled piers with ogee cornices and cast-iron double gates.

  Description

  Complex of outbuildings, built c. 1830, being outbuildings to country house, having five-bay two-storey stable block to south, three-bay two-storey coach house to north and four-bay two-storey block to north-west and attached to north-west corner of coach house. Stable block has central carriage entrance with dressed sandstone voussoirs, pitched slate roof and cast-iron rainwater goods, painted rendered walls with square-headed window openings to first floor with timber louvers and square-headed door openings to ground floor with timber battened half-doors and corrugated-iron canopies to groups of doorways. Coach house has triple arcade of round arch carriage entrances to ground floor with dressed sandstone surrounds and voussoirs and timber battened double-leaf doors, pitched slate roof, rendered walls with square-headed window openings to first floor having timber windows and cut-stone sills. North-west block has hipped slate roof with red brick eaves course, rendered red brick walls with round-headed window openings to first floor having red brick voussoirs, concrete sills and timber windows with spoked fanlights. Square-headed window openings to ground floor with timber ventlight windows and concrete sills. Square-headed door opening to ground floor with concrete lintel and timber battened door. Rubble limestone walls with square-headed pedestrian entrance to east of stable block having dressed limestone bellcote with cast-iron bell. Round entrance arch to north-east with dressed sandstone voussoirs and surrounds and having camber-arched pedestrian entrance to south having dressed sandstone voussoirs. Cobbled yard.

  Polygonal-plan walled garden, built c. 1830, with rubble limestone walls having brick skin to inner north elevation. Square-headed pedestrian entrance to north side with red brick surround and decorative cast-iron gate. Remains of foundations of glass house to north. Landscaped gardens to interior.

  Entrance gates to Bearforest country house, erected c. 1805, with gate lodge of c. 1950 inside to south-east. Rubble stone boundary walls with rubble stone sweep walls to entrance gates having dressed limestone plinths and copings. Square-profile dressed rusticated limestone piers with carved caps and cast-iron gates vehicular and pedestrian gates and railings, with carved limestone wheelguards to front. Detached single-storey gate lodge, built c. 1950, having two-bay front elevation, multiple-bay side walls, lower single-bay addition to south side and lean-to addition and gabled projection to north. Hipped slate roof with rendered chimneystacks and overhanging eaves, roughcast rendered walls with render plinth course and having cut sandstone pilasters to corners of front elevation. Square-headed six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows throughout, except for one two-over-two pane window to lean-to addition, windows to front and south elevations being triple-light with brick mullions, render reveals and render sill courses. Square-headed door opening to front elevation with timber half-glazed door, render reveal and cut limestone steps.
