Description
Listed as a ‘potential site – aerial photo’ in the SMR (1988) and as a ‘non-antiquity’ in the RMP (1998). Depicted as a quarry on the 1944 OS 6-inch map. When inspected in 1989, the field had been levelled and there was not sufficient evidence to warrant accepting this as the location of an archaeological monument. Description
In tillage, on E-facing slope, c. 100m SW of Ilen river. Marked as circular enclosure on OS 6-inch map (1842). Levelled, probably during field fence removal; no visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
