- CO032-113 Ringfort - rath
Description

Levelled; circular area defined by low rise with shallow external depression. Second undulation outside depression may be evidence for outer bank. Fosse visible as cropmark in aerial photograph (CASAP). Recorded by Bowman (1934, 561) as single-ramparted fort (diam. c. 49yd; bank H c. 4ft) on M. O'Callaghan's land. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
