Description
On E side of Oyster Haven, to S of road; small rectangular graveyard (c. 30m E-W; c. 25m N-S) enclosed by stone wall, extended northwards between 1842 and 1902. Few inscribed headstones, earliest noted dated 1771, but many uninscribed stones. At centre, remains of Kinure parish church (CO112-04702-). Description
In centre of graveyard (CO112-047001-), sod-covered remains of rectangular church (c. 14m E-W; c. 8.5m N-S). N wall borders two burial vaults. Interior overgrown but Brunicardi (1913, 54) records 'remains of a chancel wall about three feet high dividing the church into halves'. Description
Late 18th century 2-storey L-shaped house of coursed ashlar. Entrance front (N) of 5 bays; gable-ended with chimneys in gables; central baseless pedimented gable with stone inscribed 'TM 1776'. Central door with rectangular light; Venetian window overhead. Sash windows with original glazing bars; shallow reveals. W elevation gable-ended, prolonged to S by 3-bay, 2-storey gable-ended projection making plan of house L-shaped. Description
On E side of Oyster Haven. Building shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map no longer survives. Structure to W shown on 1898 OS 6-inch map, was burnt in 1920s, now in ruins. Roofless, 2-storey, 4-bay building (long axis NE-SW); rectangular tower projections with slit windows at NW and SE corners, making ground plan Z-shaped. Two-storey structure to SW known locally as 'Officer's house and Boat house' with accommodation for officers at 1st floor and boat house at ground floor level. Description
Subrectangular piece of land (c. 120m NE-SW x c. 70m NW-SE) projecting SE into Atlantic. Joined to mainland by narrow neck (L 5m; max. Wth 2m); section visible due to erosion suggests raised to level of promontory and mainland. Interior slopes down to S; ground collapsed immediately W of entrance. According to Westropp (1914, 108) 'clear foundations of a house just inside to the right (west) of the entrance, and what is possibly another foundation to the left'. Description
Detached five-bay two-storey with dormer attic and gabled central bay house, built 1776. Recent single-storey extensions to rear (south-east). Now also in use as restaurant. Pitched slate roof having cat-slide to rear pitch, with rendered eaves course, roughly coursed rubble limestone chimneystacks and replacement cast-iron rainwater goods. Dressed stone walls having chamfered plinth and tooled limestone date plaque. Square-headed window openings with tooled limestone sills throughout, having voussoirs with raised keystones or moulded render surrounds. Replacement six-over-six and four-over-four pane timber sliding sash windows. Venetian window opening with tooled limestone sill to front elevation. Central six-over-six pane timber sliding sash window with fanlight flanked by two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed window openings to dormers, having replacement timber casement windows. Round-headed window opening with render sill to side (south-west) elevation, having timber casement window. Square-headed door opening to front elevation, having replacement timber panelled door with decorative overlight and limestone stepped approach. L-plan complex of outbuildings, recently converted into holiday apartments, to rear, surrounding yard. Pitched slate roofs with rubble stone walls having camber- and square-headed window openings with replacement sills and replacement two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Camber- and square-headed door openings having replacement exposed timber lintels.
