Description
In level pasture. Circular raised area (28m N-S; 28.9m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.5m) with substantial intervening fosse; outer bank survives SE->NNW, incorporated into field fence system; heavily overgrown. Faint trace of outer fosse to NE and E. Causewayed entrance to E. Description
In pasture, on NNW-facing slope. Depicted as hachured kidney-shaped area (c. 30m NW-SE; c. 10m NE-SW), incorporated into field fence system on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Arc (C 19m) SSE->NW formed by earthen bank (int. H 1.6m) with traces of shallow external fosse on W side. Line of fosse continues NW->SSE in field to E of arc. Depicted as hachured square enclosure (c. 20m N-S; c. 20m E-W), truncated by laneway to E, on 1842 OS 6-inch map; as hachured oval shaped raised area (c. 25m N-S; c. 15m E-W), on W side of field boundary, on 1905 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps. In level pasture. Circular area (diam. c. 30m) enclosed by earthen bank with substantial external fosse. Fosse to W partially waterlogged. Stream depicted flowing in fosse SSW->N on 1905 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps. Field clearance material dumped on top of bank and in fosse to E. Interior and banks heavily overgrown and inaccessible. Description
In level pasture. Densely overgrown, rectangular area (c. 40m NNW-SSE; c. 30m ENE-WSW) defined by earthen bank (ext. H c. 3.3m to base of fosse) to NNW and WSW and by scarp to ENE and SSE; wide, waterlogged external fosse (Wth c. 6-8m) on all sides. Entrance (Wth 6m) at centre of WSW bank, with remains of stone facing on N side; fosse shallow on this side. Interior inaccessible due to overgrowth; remains of structure visible through overgrowth at SSE side; depicted as rectangular area (c. 10m by c. 4m) defined by broken line on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Semicircular annexe (straight side 43.2m SSE-NNW; projecting 32m to WSW) adjoins WSW side; defined by earthen bank (int. H 0.65m) SSE->NW and by scarp NW->NNW, and by straight ENE side; external fosse SE->NNW, with straight side sharing WSW fosse of moated site. Interior of annexe under pasture; slight depression noted inside base of bank to W and N; slightly raised area (16.6m x 10.6m; H 0.2m) in S half. Description
In pasture, on W-facing slope. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 28m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; as circular area (diam. c. 25m) on 1905 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps, enclosed by fosse with well in S fosse. According to local information, levelled c. 1978. Circular area (28.8m E-W; 26.3m N-S) enclosed by fosse (D 0.35m). Fosse most clearly defined to W and N; causewayed to N (Wth 3m) and W (Wth c. 1.5m). Spring immediately S of interior causes waterlogging in this area.
