  Description

  Discovered 1984 after collapse revealed single rock-cut chamber (Wth 1.35m; H 0.6m) with roof partially excavated in boulder clay. Spoil prevented investigation of N end. Dry-stone walling noted on E wall. Second chamber, now destroyed, said to extend in N direction. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.   Description

  In pasture, lowlying on S shore Bateman's Lough. Roughly circular area (diam. c. 50m) enclosed by earthen bank (H 0.7m) exactly similer to surrounding field fences.   In pasture, atop gravel knoll, overlooking Batemans Lough. Raised circular area (diam. 24m) defined by a scarp (H 2.1m) N->W, stone faced to N.   Description

  Freestanding single-span road bridge, built c.1885, spanning former railway line. Square-headed arch with cast-iron beam lintels and concrete deck, springing from rubble limestone piers, flanked by rubble limestone abutments. English bond red-brick parapet over deck with header red brick coping. Rubble limestone parapets over piers and abutments with round-headed render coping and red brick quoins.

  Description

  Double-arch humpback road bridge, built c.1820 spanning Owenkeagh River. Round-headed arches having dressed limestone voussoirs and rendered soffits springing from rubble stone piers with V-cutwaters having domed capping to north elevation. Rubble limestone spandrels and parapets having dressed coping with sections of render. Remains of level crossing to east.

  Description

  Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1880, having gable-fronted porch to front (south) and recent single-storey lean-to extension to rear (north). Single-storey former dwelling and barn to side (west), now in use as outbuildings, having recent lean-to extension to rear (north). Pitched artificial slate roofs throughout, having rendered eaves courses, rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods to main block. Pitched fish-scale slate roof to porch, having timber bargeboards. Roughcast rendered walls to main block with rendered platbands to front elevations of house and porch. Whitewashed and exposed rubble limestone walls to former dwelling and barn. Square-headed window openings with limestone sills throughout, having two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows throughout main block, having timber casement windows to first floor of rear elevation. Remains of timber casement windows to former dwelling. Square-headed door openings throughout, having chamfered rendered reveals and replacement glazed timber door to porch. Timber battened doors elsewhere. Located within own grounds, having roughcast rendered enclosing walls to south with square-profile gate piers and replacement aluminium gate.
