  Description

  Not shown on 1842 and 1905 OS 6-inch maps; shown on 1937 OS 6-inch map as oval area (c. 12m ENE-WSW; c. 8m NW-SE) defined by broken line. In level pasture. No visible surface trace evident. According to local information, famine burial ground where timber railing enclosed eight graves with a further six burials outside. Bowman (1934, 502) recorded six famine graves.   Description

  In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope. Circular, slightly raised, area (20.7m E-W; 20m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.85m; ext. H 1.15m); shallow external fosse (D 0.25m) survives to E.   Description

  On E side of laneway. Random-rubble front wall retains earthen core. Front elevation (H c. 3.35m; Wth 6m) faces N; arched recess (H 1.25m; Wth 2.3m; D c. 1.2m), rear collapsed, area filled with core material. Partially collapsed brick-lined funnel (diam. 1.63m).   Description

  In pasture, on N bank of stream. Low, irregular mound of burnt material (8m N-S); difficult to determine E and W limits due to overgrowth.   Description

  In tillage, atop low-lying ridge, which slopes gently down to E; stream short distance to S. Rectangular area (68m E-W; 58m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.2m; ext. H 1.25m). Inner face of bank highest on W and N sides, especially along NW quadrant; bank low on S side (int. H 0.25m; ext. H 1.4m); loose stone on inner face to N and W may be remains of facing. Bank stone-faced externally in parts to S and W. Break in bank at SW corner; cattle gap at N end of E bank (Wth 4m) and at S end of W bank (Wth 3m). Interior slopes gently down to E; planted with beech and oak trees. According to local information, tradition of this fort having an underground chamber.   Description

  Abandoned 2-storey house, with half-hipped roof, of early 19th-century appearance. Rendered over roughly coursed shaley stone. Entrance front (NE) of 3 bays, central door ope with sidelights under single flat stone arch supported by wooden lintel. Plate glass sash windows, some opes treated like door, others simply with wooden lintel. Window opes on side elevations, blocked door on SE side elevation. Brick chimney atop wall to rear, lean-to addition to rear covered by continuation of main roof line. One-storey farm buildings in yard to rear.
