Description
In pasture, near top of gentle N-facing slope overlooking Athnaloingebaine River. Slightly raised circular area (diam. 9.3m) enclosed by fosse with external bank (ext. H 0.55m; int. H 0.65m). Description
In pasture, on SW-facing slope on E side of valley of Athnaloingebaine River; standing stones (9868) c. 90m to SSE. Bowman (1934, 510) records 'stone alignment', aligned NE-SW, comprising three stones; only one was standing. SW stone, recumbent, was 4ft 7in by 3ft 10in x 1ft 3in; next stone, 4ft from last, was 1ft 8in by 2ft 10in by 2ft 7in; third stone, 3ft from last, was 4ft 1in by 1ft 7in by c. 1ft 5in; recumbent. Description
Bowman (1934, 509) recorded two stones c. 3.6m apart standing c. 90m SSE of possible stone row (9846); the first ('6ft 11in by 13ft 4in') was in an 'inclining position'; the second, to N, was broken: remaining portion was '14ft high by 7ft 8in girth'. According to local information, one stone with cupmarks was standing up to c. 1981 when it was removed to field fence to W (CO029-039003-). Stone (L 1.7m; H 0.8m) still lying in field fence. Description
One of a pair of standing stones (9868), removed from its position c. 1981. According to local information, cupmarks on one side. Stone subsequently dumped against field fence; no cupmarks evident on exposed surface of stone. Original location record CO029-206----. Description
In level pasture. Circular area (diam. 7m) enclosed by fosse with external bank (ext. H 0.5m; int. H 1.1m). Entrance (Wth c. 3m) with causeway to E; two stones outside S side of entrance, one leaning heavily to SE (H 0.6m; 0.5m x 0.3m). Field fence to W removed; clearance material dumped in W half of site. Description
