  Description

  There are no surface remains of the cist found here c. 75 years ago. Local reports differ as to whether the side walls were dry stone or slabs. There were no end stones and it was roofed by a slab 6ft × 3ft. No finds were recorded from the cist. It was situated on marshy sloping pasture. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' • DG067-007001 Ringfort - cashel
  Description

  Internal diam. 13m. A circular flat area surrounded by two concentric collapsed stone walls much robbed but to which field clearance builders 'have also been added. There is a gap of c. 5m between the inner and outer walls, the N side of the latter having been removed. The original wall facings are evident in places and the estimated width of the inner wall is c. 2.60m. The site which is known locally as the 'Relig' and believed to have been a graveyard (DG067-007002-) is situated in poor pasture surrounded by rocky boggy land. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.'
