  Description

  Within a field system (GA045-009002-). Very poorly preserved remains of a castle known as 'Cloonoran Castle' (Claffey 1983, 148). Apart from the lower courses of a wall (L c. 9m), no visible surface trace survives.   Description

  In grassland surrounding castle (GA045-009001-). A series of low earthen banks, forming several small fields, are visible within a large quadrangular field c. 270m E-W by c. 240m N-S. Some of the banks have associated shallow fosses. A possible avenue runs NNW from the castle towards a nearby road.   Description

  Some 150m N of Castle Bellew (GA045-009001-). A dried-up holy well, the site of which is marked by a pile of rubble and a group of trees. According to Claffey (1983, 149), 'The tree to the north-east of the group is reputed to have curative water that lodges in a hollow in its trunk'.
