Description
On a SW-facing slope in grassland. Poorly preserved circular rath (D 43.7m) defined by a bank and external fosse; the latter is best preserved from NE through E to SE. Description
Within a ringfort (GA043-061----). An irregular unenclosed area (N-S c. 16.9m, NE-SW c. 11m) within which are a number of small randomly placed irregular boulder grave-markers. Description
In a low-lying area W of the River Clare. Aerial reconnaissance in September 1984 (ASGAP 167:62-3) revealed a cluster of rectangular house foundations and old field boundaries covering an area c. 300m NW-SE by 130m NE-SW. The 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map shows five roofed rectangular buildings in this area, suggesting that the settlement was still partially occupied at that time. Not visited.
