  Some 195m N of and downslope from a church (GA077-016----). Known locally as Tobar Chiaráin, it consists of a natural spring in a fine stone-revetted basin, now surmounted by concrete and railings. Frequented on 9th September, the saint's day.   Description

  On E-facing slope of An Bhinn Bhuí overlooking Cuan Cill Chiaráin. Traditionally the site of an E. Chr. church founded by St Ciarán, the remains consist of a small, poorly preserved, oratory (E-W; L 3.8m, Wth 2.8m) with only the foundation and one or two courses of stonework visible. No architectural features survive. A small burial ground to ENE contains a roughly rectangular drystone shrine (L 1.75m, Wth 1.35m, H 0.8m). A holy well lies to ENE (GA077-015----).   Description

  In the middle of the older part of the burial ground (GA077-017----). A roughly rectangular box-shaped structure (L 1.75m; Wth 1.35m; H 0.8m) is constructed of large natural boulders and roofed with smaller stones. Inside it loose scattered stones are visible on the ground as well as a piece of quartz and some coins. The structure is difficult to classify or date. It may be related to the slab or gabled shrines that are found on some early Christian sites or it may be of more recent date and related to some tradition associated with St Kieran.   Description

  On a stony hillside overlooking Cuan Cill Chiaráin to E. Known locally as Tobar Muire, it consists of a small irregular hollow in a rock outcrop, with a drystone canopy (H 1.1m) on W side. A few metres NE is a rectangular patch (E-W c. 2m) of small boulders, possibly the remains of a 'leaba'. To N is a granite boulder (H 0.8m) which is said to have reappeared there after being thrown into the sea. • Cill Chiaráin [Saint Ciaran's Catholic Church], church/chapel, 1874–1884 · Regional interest
  Description

  Free-standing three-bay Roman Catholic Church, dated 1879, with single-storey porch to south-west, chancel to north-east and vestry to north-east. Pitched artificial slate roofs, copper/zinc alloy sheets to porch, cross finials to gables, replacement uPVC soffits and replacement aluminium and uPVC rainwater goods. Irregular coursed rubble granite walls with metal air vents. Pointed-arch window openings with render and stone surrounds, voussoirs and tooled limestone sills, having fixed lead-lined stained-glass windows. Paired oculus vents to apexes of nave gables. Pointed-arch door openings with raised reveals and voussoirs having single and double-leaf battened timber doors. Formerly doorways, now blocked up, in long walls. Timber panelled ceiling to interior with timber scissors trusses to roof, and timber gallery and stairs. Tooled limestone font to exterior of porch, and shrine to south. Painted rendered wall with cement coping to boundary on east, with vehicular entrance flanked by pedestrian accesses, and dry-stone wall to south.

• Cé Chill Chiaráin [Kilkieran Quay], quay/wharf, 1860–1900 · Regional interest
  Description

  Freestanding L-plan quay, built c.1880, extending into Cuan Chill Chiaráin [Kilkieran Bay] with associated buildings to north-west, two slipways to north and recent extension to quay to its north-east terminus. Dressed rusticated granite block construction, with similar coping stones, built to courses with battered both north-west and south-east elevations and irregular coursed rubblework granite parapets. Cobbled surfaces to slipways with smaller slipway having concrete repairs. Dressed granite steps and inset metal ladders to north-west elevation, concrete surface to quay with granite mooring posts, steel rings and narrow gauge rails. Two-bay two-storey former storehouse (now office) to north-west of quay with pitched recent metal sheet roof, rubble stone walls, attached at south gable to single-storey six-bay office (formerly two dwellings), with recent metal sheet roof and rendered chimneystack and rendered walls.
