  Description

  On a slight rise in pastureland; it stood within a graveyard which is shown on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1931) as roughly oval in plan (c. 60m by c. 40m) but is since much extended. The visible remains are those of a very poorly preserved Protestant church (E-W; L 15.7m, Wth 5.8m), only the foundations of which survive. There was a doorway in W gable and possible traces of transept at E end. According to Claffey (1983, 158), this church 'was built here on an earlier church site in the late eighteenth century'. No visible surface trace of it survives. A hall-house (GA045-029001-) stands 110m to WNW. • Moylough House, house, 1790–1810 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached three-bay three-storey house, built c.1800, with shallow entrance breakfront and having slightly lower two-bay return with single-bay three-storey addition to re-entrant corner and one over three-bay addition. Pitched slate roof to main block and return and lean-to roof to additions, having cast-iron rainwater goods and with rendered chimneystacks to gables. Lime-rendered walls with projecting plinth to front and rendered coursed ashlar limestone ground floor of breakfront. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows to ground and first floors and three-over-three pane to top floor. Round-headed door opening flanked by fluted columns with entablature featuring rosettes to frieze and with moulded limestone cornice over. Six-panel double-leaf timber door with cobweb fanlight. Set adjacent to crossroads with random rubble boundary wall to south and west, fortified remains and walled garden to north and two-storey random rubble outbuildings to rear with pitched slate roofs.

  Description

  Freestanding cast-iron wheel-type water pump, erected c.1880, now disused. Comprising tapered fluted shaft on moulded base with fluted globular head having pointed finial, moulded spout with ram's head bucket grip. Cast-iron wheels to either side of head of pump for pumping water. Set back from road within parking area adjacent to statue.

  Detached six-bay two-storey house, built c.1820, with shopfront to eastern three bays. Pitched concrete tiled roof with three rendered chimneystacks and replacement uPVC rainwater goods. Lined and ruled rendered walls with rendered plinth and painted parallel quoins. Square-headed window openings with moulded render surrounds, ground floor having moulded cornice with dentils and pediment detail, and first floor having panelled pilasters, consoles and dentillated moulded cornice with decorative fan mouldings above. Replacement timber casement windows throughout. Six-panel timber door to house part, with plain fanlight. Timber shopfront to east of front elevation with plain pilasters and fluted consoles, plain fascia with cornice, square-headed display windows and square-headed central entrance with ten-panel double-leaf glazed timber door.

  Description

  Detached three-bay two-storey rectory with semi-basement, built c.1820, having two-bay return to rear to give T-plan. Now private house. Hipped slate roof with central pair of rendered chimneystacks and replacement uPVC rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered walls with smooth rendered base plinth. Square-headed window openings, ground floor originally tripartite, with raised render reveals and replacement uPVC windows throughout. Centrally placed segmental-headed cut limestone doorcase having moulded cornice over square-headed six-panel timber door with step and flanking square-headed sidelights, with cobweb fanlight above, and fronted by square-plan flight of limestone steps. Set back from road in own grounds with four-bay two-storey lime-rendered random rubble outbuilding to north-east. Entrance gates and gate lodge to road.

  Gateway and gate lodge, erected c.1820, to former Moylough Rectory. Gateway comprises square-plan cut limestone piers with plinths, moulded cornices, moulded string course, flat caps and supporting double-leaf decorative cast-iron gates. Accompanying detached gate lodge, now derelict, is three bays and single storey, with extension to rear, hipped slate roof having centrally placed chimneystack and rendered walls, square-headed window openings missing frames, and square-headed doorway having limestone block-and-start surround and moulded cornice

• Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, church/chapel, 1820–1840 · Regional interest
  Description

  Freestanding T-plan Roman Catholic church, built c.1830, having two-bay nave, single-bay transepts, slightly projecting chancel area, four-stage bell tower to west, and twentieth-century sacristy addition to east. Pitched concrete tiled roof with cast-iron rainwater goods and replacement uPVC fascia. Coursed squared rubble limestone walls with dressed quoins, except for gables of transepts, east wall and sacristy, which are rendered. Rendered plinth. Rendered walls, plinth and string courses to bell tower, with dressed limestone parapet having carved pinnacles. Pointed-arch window openings with tooled surrounds to nave and transepts, with raised render reveals to transept gables, all having timber Y-tracery stained-glass windows and limestone sills. Pointed-arch doorway to north transept gable with dressed limestone and render surrounds, with timber sheeted double-leaf door. Tower has pointed-arch timber louvered windows to top stage and west face of second stage, and blind oculus windows to front and side elevations of third stage. Interior has plastered barrel-vaulted ceiling with ornate marble reredos set within round-arch recess with moulded imposts, and timber balcony over entrance reached by metal spiral stairs. Set in own ground with stone piers and chain to north and car-park to south.

  Mid-row two-storey rendered house and former shop, built c.1820, having six-bay ground floor and five-bay first floor, and with shopfront to west half. Pitched natural slate roof with three ruled and lined rendered chimneystacks. Rendered walls with plinth, vermiculated, moulded eaves cornice with dentil course and terminated by corbel details, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods. Square-headed window openings with moulded render surrounds comprising pilasters with scroll consoles having gabled boxes over, moulded cornices, and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Ground floor openings have further pediment detail. Square-headed four-panel timber door to end openings and battened door to shopfront, with plain fanlights. Timber shopfront comprises fluted pilasters with scroll consoles and gabled boxes, plain fascia with moulded cornice over, and bipartite timber display window. End of short terrace of three buildings.
