  Description

  This site was located in pasture on the NW side of Derryloughlin and is marked on the first edition of the OS map as a circular enclosure. The area has undergone land improvement and there is now no trace of the site. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 804. • KE100-002 Enclosure
  Description

  This subcircular enclosure, not marked on the OS maps, is located in pasture on the summit of a low rise, NW of Derryloughlin. The ruined enclosing stone wall survives only one to two courses high and is largely concealed in thicket. Block-like slabs form an external facing, but its inner flank is no longer discernible. The bank has completely disappeared in the NE and SW sectors, where a stone field wall now bisects the site. The entrance may have been located at either gap. The area enclosed measures 22.8m in internal diameter. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. • KE100-013 Enclosure
  Description

  A large oval enclosure is indicated at this location on the first edition of the OS map. A number of small irregularly shaped fields, as depicted on the second edition, now occupy the site but a short stretch of curving bank may indicate the remnants of the NE sector of the enclosure. This is 5.5m long, 1.4m wide and .45m high. It is densely overgrown, but appears to be of earthen composition. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
