Description
In pasture, on uneven ground, on the S shore of Kenmare Bay. An oblong area (20m E-W; 14m N-S) defined by an earth and gravel bank on the shore-side and by a drystone field wall on the S side; the E and W sides are open. Low uninscribed grave-markers are visible in the interior, some fallen and obscured by overgrowth. Trees grow within the burial ground. According to local information, Mass was celebrated here in 1999. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Description
On the W shore of a small tidal inlet on the S side of the Kenmare River. Ruined limekiln roughly circular in plan defined by earthen bank (H c. 2.2m) with lower courses of rubble-built façade at NE. Recess opening faces E and is close to water level. Partly collapsed stone-lined funnel (diam c. 2m).
