  Description

  In rough pasture, on a SW-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River. A roughly oval area (33.5m NE-SW; 27m NW-SE) is defined by the remains of two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner earthen bank (Wth 2.9m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.75m) is evident N-SSE while a scarp (H 1.2m) is evident SSE-N. The scarp is partially eroded along the S arc. An intervening fosse (Wth 3.2m) is evident N-SSE. The outer bank (Wth 3.2m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.6m) is evident N-SSE. Traces of stone inclusions are visible on the internal face of the inner bank along the NE arc. There is a possible entrance (Wth c. 2m) at SE and several smaller cattle-breaks along the perimeter. The interior slopes down to the SW where it is raised (H 1.2m) above the external ground level; three boulders are embedded in the SW quadrant. A NE-SW field boundary abuts the SE arc of the scarp externally. The enclosing elements and the interior are largely obscured by gorse and whitethorn bushes.   In rough pasture, on a S-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River to the SW. An oval enclosure (c. 25m N-S; c. 20 E-W) is faintly visible on an aerial photograph (GSIAP, V 99-100) taken in 1973. This enclosure is not visible at ground level.   Description

  In rough pasture, on a SW-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River. A roughly U-shaped stretch of a collapsed field wall adjoins the S side of the E-W townland boundary between Cappagh and Gortlahard. The relict field wall (T c. 0.5m; H 0.4m) extends downslope to the S of the townland boundary for c. 70m, then curves in a roughly E direction for c. 40m before extending N for c. 80m to join the townland boundary once more. The field wall is of drystone construction with the basal stones protruding from the peat. Some upright slabs are at right angles to the line of the wall. Extending from the S extremity of this field wall is another that runs S for c. 25m, at which point it disappears into deeper bog. Five hut sites (KE093-085001-, KE093-085002-, KE093-085004-, KE093-085005-, KE093-085006-), a relict field boundary (KE093-085007-) and another field system (KE093-085003-) are in the immediate vicinity.   In rough pasture, on a SW-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River. The remains of an oval hut site (2.8m NW-SE; 1.7m SW-NE) defined by a collapsed drystone wall (T c. 0.7m; H 0.5m).   Description

  In rough pasture, on a SW-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River. Field boundaries form a roughly trapezoidal field (long axis E-W) measuring c. 35m N-S at the W end, c. 60m E-W and c. 20m N-S at the E end. Another field wall adjoins the S side of the field, roughly midway along its length, and extends to the S for c. 100m. Another wall extends SE from the SE corner of the field for c. 30m. All of the walls are of drystone construction using relatively small stones. Occasionally the stone walls disappear beneath the bog. A hut site (KE093-085004-) adjoins the E side of the W boundary of the field. Four other hut sites (KE093-085001-, KE093-085002-, KE093-085005-, KE093-085006-), a relict field boundary (KE093-085007-) and another field system (KE093-085----) are in the immediate vicinity.   Description

  In rough pasture, on an elevation on a S-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River. A wedge-shaped chamber (L 2.6m; Wth 1.3m at the SW end; Wth 0.9m at the NE end) aligned NE-SW and closed by a backstone at NE. There are two sidestones on the SE side and three on the NW side. A single roofstone (2.1m x 2m) slopes down towards the NE end. The tomb is set within a circular, largely grass-covered, cairn of stones (diam. c. 10m; H 1m), the top of which is level with the roofstone. A relict field boundary (KE093-093002-) is in the immediate vicinity to the NE and another relict field boundary (KE093-093003-) is c. 60m to the W.   Description

  In rough pasture, on a SW-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River to the W. This network of relict field walls extends over an area c. 230m x 300m and consists of three sections of a collapsed drystone wall (T c. 0.6m; H c. 0.6m). The longest section extends upslope for c. 300m in an E direction; a substantial stretch of it (c. 60m) is masked by deeper bog. The second section of wall, at right angles to the first and adjoining it c. 15m from its W end, extends in a N direction for c. 230m. The third section of wall (L c. 50m) also extends N from the E-W section, approximately midway along the length of the latter. A field wall (T c. 1.2m; H c. 0.4m) commences c. 20m S of the E-W townland boundary between Cappagh and Gortlahard. It extends S for c. 20m then curves around to the W and continues to extend in this direction for c. 57m. The wall survives in a collapsed state with loose stones on the ground on the downslope (S) side. The basal stones protrude from the peat.   In rough pasture with occasional boulders, on a S-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River to the SW and W. An oval cairn (2.5m N-S; 1.8m E-W; H 0.4m), the basal stones of which are protruding from peat, with a possible revetment SE-W. A cairn (KE093-097003-) lies c. 40m to the NNW and another cairn (KE093-097005-) is c. 30m to the E. A relict field boundary (KE093-097001-) is in the immediate vicinity.   Description

  In pasture, on a S-facing slope near the N bank of the Glashanaglaragh stream. A circular area (27m E-W; 24m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 8.4m; int. H 1.4m; ext. H 3.4m) WSW-ENE, with gap at W, and by a scarp ENE-WSW. A shallow external fosse (Wth 2.2m; D 0.3m) is evident W-N. The entrance (Wth 2m) is at NE. The level interior is grass covered and the S portion is raised to compensate for the hillslope. A farm road skirts the external edge of the bank along the NE arc. A stream skirts the rath at E.   In undulating rough hill pasture, near the N bank of the Glashanaglarach stream. This enclosure was not located. It is indicated on the 1895 OS 6-inch map as D-shaped (c. 7m E-W) with its straight NE side (L c. 5m) formed by a field boundary. The field boundary defines an irregular field (c. 75m NW-SE; c. 50m NE-SW) and the enclosure is in its SE quadrant. A cutaway section of bog reveals that the base stones of the wall are set in clay. Stones from collapsed courses lie in bog beside the wall.   Description

  Road bridge (long axis NW-SE) spanning the Glashanaglaragh stream. Built of coursed rubble. Single segmental arch (span 7.4m) with dressed voussoirs some of which protrude beyond the face of the bridge. Side walls under arch are of dressed stone.   Description

  In pasture, on a W-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River. A two-storey vernacular house with the front (E-facing) of three bays with a central door. Sheet glass sash windows; opes on first floor are very close to eaves and are smaller than those on ground floor. Gable-ended with a galvinised roof. Originally had a chimney on each gable but that at N has been removed. Internally the house retains its original layout; kitchen, with open fireplace and settle, to left of front door.
