  Description

  Killeen Burial Ground: No surface trace of this site survives. It is indicated on the first edition of the OS map as a circular area, but is marked only as 'site of' on the second edition. It was located in pasture on the summit of a low rise, a short distance E of the Ardsheelhane river. By the late nineteenth century the site was levelled and the area was used for agricultural purposes (OSRNB 1896, 91). The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 1047.
