Description
In open, flat, mixed tillage and pasture which slopes gently down towards the E. Described in 1972 as a roughly circular area (diam. 41m) defined by a low bank of earth and stone, hedged to enclose the paddocked interior, and an outer fosse recut as a field drain (SMR file). The hedged bank has been levelled and the recut fosse (Wth 3m) encloses an interior which is now used as a haggard, with modern entrances at NE and S. Description
On a slightly raised, pasture 'headland', skirted by the N-flowing Morell River c. 150m to the E, and by a N-flowing tributary of the Morell c. 200m to the W. A circular area (int. diam. 19.5m) is defined by a low, earthen bank (Wth 1m; int H 0.3m; ext H 0.8m) and a shallow outer fosse. A causewayed entrance at the SW, noted in 1955, (SMR file) is no longer visible. Two fullachta fiaa (KD014-038---- and KD014-053----) lie c. 150m to the SSW. Description
On a low-lying, wet, pasture 'headland', skirted by the N-flowing Morell River c. 150m to the E, and by a N-flowing tributary of the Morell c. 150m to the W. A second, possible fulacht fia (KD014-053----) lies c. 25m to the E. A low, grass-covered, circular mound (diam. 9m; H 0.5m) is composed of dark earth and burnt stone. Description
On a low-lying, wet, pasture 'headland', skirted by the N-flowing Morell River c. 125m to the E, and by a N-flowing tributary of the Morell c. 175m to the W. A second, possible fulacht fia (KD014-038----) lies c. 25m to the W. A low, grass-covered, oval mound (diams. 8m E-W; 5m N-S; H 0.4-0.6m) is heavily poached by livestock, revealing small amounts of charcoal in the disturbed ground, but no visible burnt stone.
