  Description

  Located at the centre of a graveyard (KD003-011002-). A rectangular structure (dims. L 14.8m E-W ; Wth 5.3m) is defined by a low, grassed-over, stony spread (Wth 1.6-2m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.4m). Two modern headstones stand on the E gable wall line. A possible 17C graveslab (KD003-011003-) stood immediately outside the S wall. • KD003-011002 Graveyard
  Description

  On a level crest at the SE end of a low, NW-SE pasture ridge. A ruined castle (KD003-012----) is visible c. 200m to the SE. A sub-rectangular area (dims. L c. 50m E-W; Wth c. 40m ) is raised slightly (H 1m) above the surrounding ground and is enclosed by a modern stone wall. It contains a ruined church (KD003-011001-) outside of which a possible 17th century grave slab (KD003-011003-) was previously recorded. Legible grave markers date from the 18thC and the graveyard is still in use, with burials concentrated to the S of the church.   Description

  In a graveyard (KD003-011002-). Fitzgerald (1903-5, 319) recorded, 'Outside, and at the base of the west end of the south wall (of a church: KD003-011001-), lies a slab sunk in the ground bearing (an) almost indecipherable inscription, which faces east ..' commemorating the death of the Rev. Christopher Hevetson in 1698. The graveslab is no longer visible at the location indicated, but may be obscured by collapsed rubble from the church. • KD003-012 Castle - tower house
  Description

  Located at the NW-foot of a long, gentle, pasture slope, with a medieval church (KD003-011001-) and graveyard (KD003-011002-) c. 200m to the NW. According to Fitzgerald (1903-05, 319-20) it was 'a former Bermingham stronghold'. A low, rectangular, grass-covered platform (dims. L c. 30m NW-SE: Wth c. 18m; H 0.4-0.6m) defined by a scarp, carries two parallel, lower portions of castle walling and two sections of associated but collapsed mortared masonry. A SW wall (L 12m; Wth 1.5-1.7m; H2.6m) has most facing stones robbed-out, but two opes survive; a doorway (Wth 1.6m) and window embrasure (Wth 1.1-1.6m). Parallel to it (7m to NE) is a foundation-course of outer wall facing stones (L 3m), immediately to the S of which is a large pile of collapsed mortared masonry (dims. L 10m; Wth 5m), with a second, smaller area of displaced masonry (dims. L 3.5m ;Wth 2m) c. 10m to the NE. The monument was probably a tower house. • KD003-013 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a gentle E-facing slope in tillage. A poorly preserved, slightly raised and densely overgrown circular area (int. diam. 33m) is defined by a fosse (Wth 3.2m; D 1.8m) which has been recut as a field drain. The interior is covered with material from levelled field boundaries to the N and E, cleared in 1985 according to local information. An entrance gap (Wth 5.7m) at NW appears to be modern.
