  Description

  Small late medieval parish church (dims. 12.9m E-W, 7.6m N-S, wall T 0.8m) built of rubble limestone, situated within a subrectangular graveyard (LA009-014001-). Small single-light window with broken ogee-head visible in E gable. Similar windows in N and S walls opposite each other. Walls of church survive to roof level except E end of S wall, and S end of W gable. Remains of doorway (Wth 0.85m) of hammer dressed and chamfered limestone blocks in W gable (JKAS 1904, Vol. IV, 192). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P. David Sweetman, Olive Alcock and Bernie Moran.
