  Description

  On a low rise on the floor of Glenade valley. Grass and scrub-covered oval area (int. dims 25m NNW-SSE; 21m ENE-WSW) defined by a round-topped earthen bank (Wth 3.9m; int. H 0.35m; ext. H 1.3m) E-S, which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.8m) elsewhere and which is separated by a flat-bottomed fosse, best preserved E-S (Wth of base 2.25m; D 0.25m), from an external bank (Wth 3m; H 0.25m) NE-E-SSW. • LE003-016001 Ringfort - cashel
  Description

  On top of a hillock on the floor of Glenade valley. Grass-covered subcircular area (int. dims 21.5m N-S; 18m E-W) defined by a grass-covered stone spread (Wth 2m-3m; H 0.2m), which is reduced to a stone-covered scarp (H 0.8-1.3m) with a berm (Wth 2m) and slight outer bank or wall (L 9m) at W. The possible souterrain (LE003-01602-) is in the interior at NW, and there is a possible sweathouse at E (LE003-016003-). • LE003-016002 Souterrain
  Description

  On top of a hillock on the floor of Glenade valley. A circular depression (diam. 2.8m; D 0.7m) along the perimeter of cashel (LE003-016001--) at NW and a stone-filled depression (L 5.8m; Wth 1.1m; D 0.55m) leading S from it is probably a souterrain. • LE003-016003 Sweathouse
  Description

  Reported (28-9-2021) by Mr Aidan Harte, Project Co-ordinator, Leitrim Sweathouse Project. Named ‘Sweat House’ on the Cassini edition of the OS 6-inch map, but not recorded on the earlier, first edition (c.1835). Abutting the outer edge of the poorly preserved enclosing wall of a cashel (LE003-016001-) at E. A rectangular area (L 2.4m E-W; Wth 1.4m) is defined by large, low (H0.67m) earthfast boulders and slabs, with a possible entrance at E. A small, roofless structure – possibly a farm outbuilding or a very small dwelling (also recorded on the Cassini edition of the OS 6-inch map) - stands c.10m to the S. • LE003-018 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  At the inner edge of a shelf on the E side of Glenade valley that is at the bottom of a steep W-facing slope. Grass and reed-covered circular area (diam. 27m N-S; 24.8m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 0.4m at E to 0.7m at N), with traces of a bank (Wth of base 4.5m; int. H 0.3m) at E and traces of an intermittently visible fosse (Wth 5-6m). The original entrance is not identified but there are two slight dips on the perimeter at SW. • LE003-038 Megalithic structure
  Description

  At the bottom of a gentle W-facing slope on the floor of Glenade valley and preserved in a small area of scrub in a pasture field. A line (L 4m) of four contiguous stones (dims 0.6m x 0.2m; H 0.4m to 1.1m x 0.2m; H 0.8m) is aligned NE-SW, but one stone (dims 1.4m x 0.4m; H 0.8m) is aligned NW-SE.
