  In reclaimed pasture immediately W of the townland boundary with Garranekeagh. Shown as a circular-shaped earthwork or platform with Trig Station marking spot height of 486 ft. OD on 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Depicted on the OSi 25-inch map as a triangular-shaped area (dims. c. 20m N-S; 21m E-W) enclosed by a bank with a trigonometrical station marked at N.   Description

  In pasture, on slight SSE-facing slope of broad E-W running ridge, with good views from SE-SW. An enclosure (LI055-007002-) lies 100m to the SE. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map as a raised oval-shaped area defined by a scarp. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as an oval-shaped area enclosed by a bank. Surveyed in 1999 and described as a slightly raised circular-shaped area (dims. 20m N-S; 20m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 3.8m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 0.5m) from NW-W-NE, at SE and SW, reduced to a scarp (ext. H 0.3m) with external fosse (Wth at base 3.6m; ext. D 0.8m) from SW-W-N-NE. Breaks in bank at W (Wth 4m) and NE (Wth 2m). Monument visible as circular-shaped area enclosed by a tree-lined bank on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimages.   Description

  In pasture, on slight SSE-facing slope at S base of broad E-W running ridge, with good views from SE-SW. An enclosure (LI055-007001-) lies 100m to the NW. Depicted on the 1840 ed. • LI055-008 Castle - unclassified
  Description

  In 1840 the Ordnance Survey recorded that the ‘ruins of an old Castle are seen in the southwest of the above townland. The west wall and portions of the north and south ones are all that now remain. The greatest height of this building is at present fifty feet [15m]. The thickness of the walls is five and a half feet [1.6m]’ (O’Flanagan 1929, 97; OSL Effin Parish). Westropp (1906-7, 193) recorded the following details about Ardskeagh Castle in the townland of Brickfield (Baile an Bhaoilligh) or Kilbigley; 'Ardskeagh C[astle]. in Kyllbyggeley (Peyton, p. 238)'.   Situated on reclaimed grassland. Area depicted as marshy land that is annotated ‘Liable to Floods’ on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map. Cropmark of circular shaped area (approx. int. diam. 30m; ext. diam. 45m) defined by at least two ditches which is transected at E by a post-1700 field boundary running N-S which is clearly visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-13.
