  Description

  Atop low hillock, in area of outcropping limestone. Circular area (diam. c. 50m) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.45m; ext. H 1.8m). Bank, heavily eroded by cattle, has been worn to scarped edge NNE->E and S->SW. Break in bank (Wth 6.3m) at SW. Interior rises up towards centre with exposed limestone prominent; irregular depression on E side probably associated with quarrying. Bank abutted by field boundary at N.   Description

  In pasture, on E-facing slope, in area of outcropping limestone. Roughly circular area (diam. 28.5m) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank with external fosse (D 0.4m; Wth 1.6m) SE->NE; enclosing element truncated by dry-stone field wall NE->SE. Bank (int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.95m) is heavily masked by vegetation overgrowth SE->NW. Fosse, largely infilled with dumps of earth and stones, narrows along N arc. Interior, covered with trees and dense undergrowth, slopes very gently down to E. Field boundary runs tangentially to enclosure on W side. Removal of topsoil by mechanical digger has exposed a narrow stony band (Wth 2.5m) running along outer edge of fosse NW->NE. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011

  Description

  In rough pasture, atop hill, in area of outcropping limestone. Oval area (40m N-S; 32m E-W) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank NNE->NW, but bank truncated by dry-stone field wall NW->NNE. Bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.7m), best preserved along S arc, lowers along W side becoming scarp-like in places. Entrance (Wth 3.2m) at SE. Interior, covered with scrub vegetation and trees, has uneven surface particularly in NW quadrant. Low field wall (H 0.25m; Wth 0.6m) skirts around external base of bank NE->SE.   In pasture, on gentle ESE-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 30m) defined by stone bank (int. H 1m; ext. H 0.75m). Bank best preserved SSW->N, lowers E->SSW becoming scarp-like in places. Interior, sloping down gently to E, is divided by dry-stone wall (H 0.9m; Wth 0.35m) on rough E-W axis c. 8m to N of S arc. Interior densely overgrown.   Description

  Atop hill, in area of scrub surrounded by pasture fields. Formerly circular area (diam. 26m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.7m; ext. H 2.10m) with external fosse (D 0.95m; Wth 1.3m) NE->NW. Enclosing element has been removed NW->NE by quarrying which has also removed part of interior (14.5m N-S; 13.4m E-W) on this side. Limit of quarried area now marked by dump of limestone boulders. Enclosing element is masked by dense overgrowth. Causeway entrance (Wth 2.9m) at SSE. Surviving portion of interior has very uneven surface, with dump of quarry spoil in SW quadrant.   Description

  In pasture, on gentle N-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 30m) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank, densely overgrown with thorn bushes. Bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.85m), best preserved E->NNW, incorporates outcrops of limestone at NE and along S arc. Level interior is masked by dense vegetation overgrowth of thorn bushes and nettles.   Description

  Detached four-bay single-storey thatched house, built c. 1790, having slightly projecting end-bay to front (east) elevation and two-bay single-storey extension to rear (west) elevation. Hipped and pitched thatched roof with red brick chimneystacks. Roughcast rendered walls. Square-headed openings with one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows and painted stone sills. Square-headed opening having timber battened door. Pair of round profile roughcast rendered piers to north with stepped cats and double-leaf cast-iron gates.
