Description
In grounds of golf course, on slight N-facing slope. Roughly circular area (25.8m N-S; 27m E-W) defined by a scarped edge (H 0.5m; Wth 6m) which is most prominent NW->E but barely evident E->NW. Interior slopes slightly down to N and is under grass. A field drain skirts enclosure 8m to E. A field boundary which lay short distance S of enclosure has been removed. In grounds of golf course, on level rough beside fairway. Roughly circular area (26.75m N-S; 24.9m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.95m), with external fosse (D 0.1m; Wth 1.4m) NW->SW. Causeway entrance (Wth 4.15m) at E. A drain has been cut along line of fosse SW->NW. Description
In level pasture, at end of low E-W running ridge. Circular area (27m N-S; 29m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.9m; ext. H 1.65m) NW->NE and E->SSW, with external fosse (D 0.3m; Wth 3m) NW->NE and E->SSE. Enclosing element has been levelled NE->E and SSW->NW. Description
In reclaimed pasture, 75m E of watercourse that forms townland boundary with Cloonyscrehane and 125m W of River Deel. Ringfort (LI036-080----) lies 280m to the SW. Not marked on OSi historic maps. Identified by Faith Bailey after examination of aerial photographs (Bing maps aerial photograph 07/08/2018) and described as a circular enclosure defined by a fosse and slight bank (dims. c. 61m N-S; 58m E-W). Levelled monument visible as circular-shaped cropmark (diam. c. 30m) intersected at SE by a linear cropmark running N-S on OSi orthophotograph taken between 2005-2012 and on Google Earth orthoimages. Description
Freestanding triple-arch road bridge, dated 1855. Comprising three camber-headed arches with tooled limestone voussoirs, keystones and dressed stone soffits springing from rusticated stone piers. Tooled stone corbels and stringcourse to piers, having dressed stone plinths with recent rendering and slightly curved V-cutwaters to north-east and south-west elevations. Tooled stone capping to cutwaters. Dressed stone spandrels surmounted by dressed limestone parapets with tooled limestone coping. Tooled limestone terminal piers flanking parapets. Recent cast-iron service pipe to south-west elevation mounted on cast-iron support beams. Recent freestanding rectangular tower to west end of south-west elevation having galvanised-steel platform. Tarmac road over bridge.
