  In level lawn, to rear of house. Circular area (37.5m N-S; 38.4m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.65m; ext. H 0.75m) covered by trees and bushes. Break in bank at NNW (Wth.2m) and SE (Wth 3.4m). Field boundaries abut bank at SW, NE and E; enclosure bounded by pasture fields NE->SW. Drain cut along external base of bank E->SW. Field boundaries skirt base of scarp at E and S; these meet just SE of enclosure locating it in SE corner of field. Interior level and covered by dense overgrowth.   A test excavation by Kenneth Wiggins (00E0342) ‘was carried out on 24 May 2000 along the southern side of the Ballygowan Spring Water plant, where a large new extension was proposed. Four cuttings were opened by mechanical excavator. These did not reveal any archaeological material. The development proceeded, and all ground disturbance was monitored, between 12 June and 12 July 2000.
