  Description

  In pasture on slight S facing slope, 53m W of townland boundary with Rathmore North, a ringfort (LI031-017----) lies 144m to SW. No surface remains visible. Identified as an oval shaped aerial on aerial photography (GPL 1/5000, 2495). Monument not visible on Google Earth orthoimagery. • LI031-013 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a gentle NW-facing slope, in pasture to S and tillage to N, N section of monument forms the townland boundary with Cahirduff. An enclosure (LI031-014----) lies 75m to SE. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as an oval-shaped earthwork (60m NW-SE; 47m NE-SW). Monument surveyed by the ASI in 2007 and described as a semicircular-shaped area (dims. 16m NNW-SSE; 30m WSW-ENE) enclosed by a bank (Wth 6.7m; int. H 0.75m; ext. H 2.45m) which is incorporated into a field boundary from WSW-W-N-E. A fosse (Wth 5.85m; D 1.05m) is visible from WSW-W-N-E and has been re-cut as a field drain. Monument is visible as an oval-shaped area defined by a field boundary from WSW-W-N-E and by a cropmark from E-S-SW-WSW on OSi aerial orthoimage taken 2005-2012 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018. • LI031-014 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a gentle NW-facing slope, in pasture, 90m S of a townland boundary with Cahirduff. An enclosure (LI031-013----) lies 75m to NW. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 2007 and described as an oval-shaped area (38m N-S; 34m E-W) enclosed by the remains of much degraded bank (Wth 10.7m; int. H 0.35m; ext. H 0.55m) from NW-N-NNE and from E-ESE-SE and by a scarp (Wth 3.0m; H 0.25m) from WNW-NW, from NNE-NE with external fosse (Wth 9m; D 0.05m) visible from ENE-E-SE and traces of an outer bank (Wth 12.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.45m) evident from E-ESE. The interior has a gentle WNW-facing slope. Monument is visible as an oval-shaped cropmark (75m NW-SE; 69m NE-SW) on OSi aerial orthoimage taken 2005-2012 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 25/03/2017.   Description

  On a NW-facing slope, in pasture 150m SW of a townland boundary with Rathmore North. An enclosure (LI022-128----) lies 95m to N. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Monument surveyed by the ASI in 2007 and described as an oval-shaped area (26m N-S; 20m E-W) defined by a scarp from NNW-N-E and the remains of a levelled bank (Wth 16m; int. H 0.35m; ext. H 0.85m) from E-ESE-SE. Monument is levelled from SE-WNW with a farmyard from WNW-NW-NNW. There are traces of an external fosse (Wth 16.2m; D 0.4m) visible from E-ESE. Monument is visible as a semicircular-shaped cropmark on OSi aerial orthoimage taken 2005-2012, on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 25/03/2017.   Description

  On a steep E-facing slope of ridge, in pasture which lies 25m W of a watercourse which also marks a townland boundary with Rathmore North. An enclosure (LI031-023----) lies 35m to SE. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as an oval-shaped cropmark on Bórd Gáis Éireann Curraleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline aerial photographs (Ref. BGE 1/5000, 2457). Monument surveyed by the ASI in 2007 and described as no surface remains visible. Field divided into paddocks which are separated by timber fencing. Monument is not visible on OSi aerial orthoimage taken 2005-2012, or on Digital Globe orthoimage taken 2011-2013 or on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018. Possible circular-shaped enclosure identified from examination of aerial photograph (BGE 1:10,000 No. 42) taken 03/11/1984 of the region associated with Bord Gáis Curraghleigh West-Limerick gas pipeline. Surveyed by the ASI in 2007 and described as no surface remains visible. No cropmark visible on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12 or on Google Earth orthoimages.
