  Description

  In gentle undulating pasture, good views in all directions, 215m N of townland boundary with Knockanes , 360m W of boundary with Killeen and 240m E of boundary with Rineroe. Enclosure (LI021-043----) lies 210m to SE. No surface remains visible. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map as circular shaped area enclosed by two banks with intervening fosse. An OS trig. station marking height of 94 ft. OD is shown inside this monument on the 1840 OS map. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OS 25-inch map as a circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 23m) enclosed by a bank with trig. station on bank of ringfort at W. On this map the possible ringfort is shown enclosed by a circular field boundary (approx. diam. 50m) which is intersected at NW by a laneway running NE-SW.   Description

  On a slight S-facing slope, in pasture, 160m SE of the N21 road, with moderate views in all directions. Not depicted on OS historic mapping. Identified as a well defined circular feature on 1:4000 OSi aerial photographs (OS3 No. 1184). Monument inspected by the ASI in 2000 and described as no surface remains visible. Not visible on Digital Globe orthophotos taken 2011-13 or on Google Earth orthoimages taken 28/06/2018. See attached Google Earth orthoimage.
