  Detached single-storey house, built c. 1880. Pitched and hipped slate roofs with decorative eaves course. Red brick walls. Timber casement windows. Timber glazed door with elaborate door surround.

  Description

  Detached four-bay two-storey with attic brewery office building, built 1863. Rectangular-plan with recent steel spiral fire escape to east gable. Pitched slate roof, terracotta ridge tiles, skylights, raised shouldered gables, moulded stone verge copings, stone roundels to apex, tall red brick corbelled chimneystack to north elevation, overhanging eaves, painted timber soffits, cast-iron gutters and downpipes. Red brick English garden wall bond walling, projecting chamfered plinth to south, corbelled square, moulded and decorative banding, cast-iron bracket to south-west corner. Round-headed window openings to ground floor south elevation, moulded heads, carved limestone keystone, recessed plain brick surround, limestone sills, painted timber multiple-paned casement windows; segmental-headed window openings to first floor, red brick voussoirs, moulded soffit and reveals, limestone sills, painted timber four-over-one sliding sash windows; segmental- and round-headed window openings to north, east and west elevations, red brick voussoirs, limestone sills, painted timber sliding sash and casement windows; lunette to west gable, tooled limestone sill, painted timber fixed pane. Round-headed door opening, stepped moulded head, limestone keystone, recessed surround, painted timber multiple-paned fixed fanlight, varnished timber and glazed door, granite threshold. Set in complex of brewery buildings.

  Attached four-bay multiple-storey former granary, built c. 1865. Hipped slate roofs, clay ridge and hip tiles, gable-fronted dormer windows, fretted timber bargeboards, suspended finials, painted timber elevations, casement windows, stepped red brick corbelled eaves course, moulded cast-iron gutters, cast-iron downpipes. Red brick English cross bond walling, cast-iron tie-beam plates, cast-iron bracket to south elevation. Square-headed window openings to ground floor, painted timber fixed panes, cross beam steel lintels, pre-cast concrete sills. Square-headed door openings, iron beam lintels, painted timber vertically sheeted doors. Set within brewery complex.

  Octagonal-plan chimney, built c. 1865. Square-plan base, tooled limestone broached junction to shaft. Red brick walling laid in English garden wall bond, projecting moulded plinth, moulded recessed panels to base, painted brick shaft, cast-iron bracing to support upper section. Red brick boiler house attached to north.

  Detached three-bay two-storey house, extant 1870, on an L-shaped plan centred on single-bay two-storey breakfront with prostyle distyle portico to ground floor; two-bay (south) or three-bay (north) two-storey side elevations. Hipped slate roof on an L-shaped plan with ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks on axis with ridge having capping supporting caged terracotta pots, and cast-iron rainwater goods on moulded rendered cornice with cast-iron downpipes. Rendered walls on rendered plinth. Segmental-headed central door opening with rendered lugged surround centred on keystone framing replacement timber panelled door having sidelights on panelled risers below overlight. Square-headed flanking window openings with timber sills, and timber colonette mullions with fretwork aprons framing replacement two-over-two sash windows having one-over-one sidelights. Square-headed window openings (first floor) with sills, and concealed dressings framing replacement two-over-two sash windows. Square-headed window openings (remainder) with sills, and concealed dressings framing replacement two-over-two sash windows. Set in landscaped grounds with cut-granite panelled piers to perimeter having beaded cornices below shallow pyramidal capping supporting cast-iron double gates.
