The development will consist of the laying of underground 38kV medium voltage electrical cables with associated ducting, 5 no. joint bays, with associated communication chambers and ancillary development within the R178 and An Bothair Dara public roads for a distance of approximately 4.090 meters. Approximately 560 m of cabling will be on private lands associated with the permitted Kilcurly Solar Farm. The underground cable is intended to connect the permitted 38kV substation in Kilcurly Solar Farm, in Kilcurly townland, with the Dundalk 110kV ESB substation, in Farrandreg townland. The solar farm and 38kV substation were granted permission by An Bord Pleanála (PL 15.309224) on the 2nd of November 2021. This followed the notification of provisional grant of planning permission from Louth County Council (Ref. 20/187) for Kilcurly Solar Farm. Permission is sought for a period of 10 years. Detached six-bay single-storey freight shed, built c. 1875, now disused. Rectangular-plan. Pitched slate roof, clay ridge tiles, roof vents to ridge, cast-iron gutters on painted timber fascia. Squared coursed stone walling, red brick Flemish bond walling to north-east, smooth rendered walling to east. Square-headed window openings, red brick block-and-start surrounds, tooled stone sills, openings now blocked. Square-headed door opening, metal door. Square-headed opening to east elevation, double metal doors. Set in freight yard located to south of Dundalk Railway Station, corrugated-iron shed to north-east.

Description
Detached three-bay two-storey over basement former railway worker's house, dated 1902, now in private domestic use. Gabled breakfronts to north and south, extensions to east. Pitched slate roof, terracotta ridge cresting, unpainted smooth rendered shouldered corbelled chimneystacks, painted carved timber bargeboards and terracotta finials to gables, moulded cast-iron gutters on painted timber fascia to overhanging eaves, square-profile downpipes with decorative lugs. Unpainted roughcast rendered walling, smooth rendered plinth, block-and-start quoins and continuous sill courses. Square-headed and segmental-headed (first floor breakfronts) window openings, concrete sills, smooth rendered soffits and reveals, moulded render surrounds to ground floor, uPVC windows, painted timber two-over-two sliding sash window to north; tripartite window to north breakfront, moulded render surround four-over-four flanked by one-over-one sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening, moulded render surround, painted timber nine-panel door with brass door furniture, plain-glazed overlight. Set back from road, garden to south, bounded by smooth rendered plinth wall with cast-iron railings with spear finials, smooth rendered gate piers, pyramid caps, cast-iron gate; squared roughly coursed stone wall running eastwards to south of house, soldier coping, square-headed door opening giving access to timber buildings once part of railway.

Painted smooth rendered ruled-and-lined walling, block-and-start render quoins; random coursed stone walling to north-west and south-west elevations. Square-headed window openings, painted stone sills, uPVC windows, block-and-start red brick jambs with flat-arched brick lintels to north. Square-headed door opening, uPVC door with sidelights and overlight. Set back from road, garden to south, tiled path to door, random coursed stone wall to west, painted stone plinth with wrought-iron railings to south, painted stone gate piers, wrought-iron gate.

Rectangular-plan, advanced gable-fronted bays and two-bay cat-slide extension to east, attached to building to south. Pitched slate roofs, artificial slate to cat-slide roof, clay ridge tiles, rooflights, painted timber bargeboards to gabled bays, cast-iron and uPVC gutters on painted timber fascia. Squared roughly coursed stone walling, some tooled stone quoins to north, red brick quoins to advanced bays. Square-headed window openings, some blocked-up, block-and-start red brick jambs, brick lintels, granite sills, painted timber fixed frame windows; paired round-headed windows to advanced bays, block-and-start red brick jambs, brick archivolts, granite sills, painted timber two-over-two sliding sash windows; blocked roundel to north, red brick surround. Attached multiple-bay two-storey former railway building, built c. 1870, now disused. T-plan, flat-roofed porch to south-east, single-bay two-storey block with cat-slide roof to north-east, attached to building to north. Hipped slate roofs, clay ridge tiles, some ridge cresting surviving; red brick shouldered corbelled chimneystacks, some with roughcast render, clay pots; rooflights; painted timber projecting eaves with sheeted soffit supported on carved timber brackets, cast-iron gutters, circular cast-iron downpipes. Unpainted smooth rendered walling. Square-headed window openings, painted stone sills, painted six-over-six (ground floor) , three-over-six (first floor) and one-over-one (south-east porch) timber sliding sash windows; four-over-four timber sliding sash window to north-east porch with sidelight to north. Square-headed door openings, painted timber architraves, painted timber vertically-sheeted door (north porch), painted six-panelled timber door (south porch), timber mullioned overlights; timber panelled door to east elevation. Wrought-iron gate to east elevation giving access to passageway to rear of building. Located along east side of railway tracks to south of Dundalk Railway Station, coloured concrete slab paving to south of south-east porch.

Description
Detached five-bay two-storey house, built c. 1860, now in use as school. L-plan, flat-roofed porch projecting from east elevation, canted and box bay windows to south, return and lean-to block to west, extensions to north. Hipped slate roofs, clay ridge tiles, leaded hips, unpainted smooth rendered shouldered corbelled chimneystacks with projecting cornices, painted timber projecting eaves with sheeted soffit supported on timber corbels, moulded cast-iron gutters, circular cast-iron downpipes. Unpainted smooth rendered ruled-and-lined walling, dressed limestone plinth, block-and-start quoins and first floor sill course; ashlar limestone walling and moulded cornice to canted bay. Square-headed window openings, limestone sills, painted timber horizontally-paned two-over-two and one-over-one sliding sash windows; paired one-over-one sliding sash windows to box bay with painted timber mullions and lintel; uPVC windows to first floor east elevation and north extension. Round-headed door opening to porch with plain limestone frieze, projecting moulded cornice and parapet, round-headed window opening to south elevation, limestone sill, painted timber one-over-one sliding sash window; moulded render surround, painted timber four-panel door, plain-glazed fanlight, approached by concrete ramp; square-headed door opening to west return, painted timber door with glazed panels. Set within wooded grounds, bitmac driveway and carpark, grassed area and gardens to east and north east.

Description
Detached multiple-bay single-storey aluminium office building, built, c. 1995. Rectangular-plan with projecting two-bay section to north, raised one metre from ground level on aluminium piers, entrance doors to south and west accessed by external metal stairs. Curved aluminium roof, tapering in span towards north, overhanging eaves to east and west, corrugated-aluminium sheeting to soffit. Corrugated-aluminium walls with textured aluminium band to window level and corners. Square-headed window openings, curved corners, aluminium frame fixed-pane and sliding windows. Square-headed door openings with aluminium and glazed doors. Set in brick surfaced railway goods yard.
