Description
The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Situated in a sandbar to the N of the junction of the stream from Termonfeckin and the shore. Six to eight hearths, consisting of flat stones, burnt fragments of shell and a fragment of the right parietal bone of an infant, were recorded in 1915, but were subsequently eroded away by the weather (CLAJ 1919-20, 277, pl. facing 300-1).

Description
Excavated as part of the Termonfeckin/Baltray Sewerage Scheme (Excavation Licence No. 03E0162). A circular pit (diam. 0.92m) which contained a sherd of un-diagnostic prehistoric pottery and a quantity of possible human burnt bone was uncovered. There was no evidence for in-situ burning. Description
An 8m wide trench was excavated as part of the Termonfeckin/Baltray Sewerage Scheme (Excavation Licence number 03E0273). A possible house site and a number of pits were uncovered. Finds included large quantities of prehistoric pottery sherds. The excavator suggested that this may possibly be part of a larger area of settlement. Description
Discovered during works associated with the Termonfeckin/Baltray Sewerage Scheme (Excavation Licence No. 03E0162 / 03E0273). The remains of a possible pit-burial were uncovered but as they lay outside the pipe trench they were preserved in-situ.
