Description
Located the NW end of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. It is depicted as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’ and as a curve in a field bank SE-W on the 1907 edition. No archaeological feature is visible at ground level in pasture, but the bank is probably incorporated into a field bank and hedge SE-W-NW (diam. c. 35m The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). Description
Two-arch slightly humpbacked stone bridge, built c.1760, carrying Castleblayney to Newtownhamilton road over stream linking Drumillard and Muckno Loughs. Walls of uncoursed rubble sandstone with segmental arches having heavy, punch-finished ashlar voussoirs and punched chamfered string course narrowing wing walls and spandrels to parapet wall with heavy, punched flat coping stones. Parapets are terminated on both sides by square piers and are splayed slightly outward on each side of road crossing with some recent repairs with guillotined stone to south-east parapet. South-east parapet abuts low rubble stone field wall continuing on both sides of bridge. Bridge surface has soft grass margin to each side and no positive drainage. Upstream and downstream sides both have curved, pointed cutwaters.

Description
Freestanding gable-fronted Presbyterian church with Gothic detailing, dated 1787, remodelled 1930 by John Francis McGahon of Dundalk, having three-bay nave with single-storey flat-roofed minister’s room (1930) to rear (west). Pitched natural slate roof, half-hipped to rear, blue-black angled clay ridge and hip tiles, half-round metal gutters, stone finial gable, oval slate date plaque inscribed '1787/Revd. John Davys'. Roughcast rendered walling, smooth rendered plinth, quoins, and minister’s room. Pointed-arch cast-iron Y-tracery diagonally glazed windows with stained margins and quatrefoil to spandrels. Geometric tracery to east window over entrance door with moulded string course continued as hood-moulding, with concrete sills throughout. Pointed-arch timber double-leaf doors. Interior having partially timber-panelled lobby with timber dog-leg stairs leading to first floor gallery and meeting room. Church hall having two aisles, painted plastered walls and ceiling, wall-mounted carved stone memorials, carved timber pulpit and balcony on pair of cast-iron columns. Set back from road by roughcast plinth walls and cast-iron gates hinged to square pillars. Situated in elevated graveyard site, addressed by central flights of granite steps. Nearby lecture hall, built 1892 by John Harvey of Castleblayney.

Description
Detached five-bay two-storey manse, built 1871, to designs by Dundalk architect John Murray, with T-shaped plan having two-bay two-storey extension to rear elevation and lean-to slate with lead hip-roofed porch over main entrance. Rolled clay ridge tiles over pitched slate roof having brick chimneystacks with oversailing courses, overhanging eaves with timber-sheeted soffits, pierced timber bargeboards and replacement metal rainwater goods held on timber fasciaboard. Coarse roughcast cement rendered walls with battered, projecting stone plinth and pointed segmental-headed window openings with replacement uPVC frames, and concrete sills. Slate with lead hip-roofed single-storey canted bay window to south-east ground floor elevation having square-headed lights with replacement uPVC frames, and concrete sills. Two-centred pointed-arch doorway on smooth rendered entrance porch to north-east elevation with moulded render cornice to porch and moulding around doorcase which holds pointed timber door. Pitched slate-roofed single-storey roughcast rendered outbuilding to north-east with smooth rendered wall and steel-sheeted gates between outbuilding and manse which has single storey lean-to structure in this rear enclosed yard. Site set back off Keady road in own gardens surrounded by mature trees between manse and adjacent Presbyterian church building.

Description
Detached five-bay single-storey hall, dated 1891, with gabled entrance porch to north-east façade and gabled extension to south-west elevation at rear of original hall structure linking it with four-bay late twentieth-century extension to south-west. Pitched fibre-cement tiled roof to both original main hall structure and lower entrance porch with ornate pierced timber bargeboards to both, and replacement metal gutters held on small rounded stone corbels at eaves, and cast-iron downpipes. Original hall building has ruled-and-lined smooth cement rendered walls with rusticated smooth render block-and-start quoins and two-centred arch window openings which have four-over-four pane timber sliding sash frames with convex horns and stone sills. Pointed window openings to the smooth cement rendered rear extension have replacement uPVC frames. Stone shield over main entrance doorway, with date. Two-centred arch doorway opening double-leaf timber-sheeted pointed doors with ornate iron hinges. Roughcast cement rendered front wall with heavy cast-iron gate held on octagonal roughcast rendered piers leading to sandstone steps up to main entrance doorway.

Description
Terraced five-bay two-storey house, built c.1830, with gabled porch to front and lean-to porch to rear. Pitched fibre-cement tiled roof with terracotta ridge tiles, three smooth rendered brick chimneystacks with moulded clay pots, sprocketed eaves, and smooth rendered cornice holding cast-iron round rainwater goods. Painted ruled-and-lined smooth rendered walls with rusticated smooth render block-and-start quoins and square-headed window openings which have shallow reveals and six-over-six pane timber sliding sash frames to front mostly with chamfered but some convex horns and painted stone sills. Single four-over-four pane timber sliding sash window above front porch, with six-over-three pane frame to first floor on rear elevation where all other windows have replacement timber frames. Original crown glass evident to some window panes especially to rear elevation. Shallow pitched roof to front porch has decorative pierced scalloped timber bargeboard and painted smooth rendered walls containing camber-arch doorway opening with moulded render architrave framing replacement eight-panel timber door and flanking sidelights with stone sills. Painted, smooth rendered wall with wrought-iron railings held by square piers with cut-stone caps enclose front garden between house and road. Detached two-storey corrugated steel-clad gabled, stone-built outhouse with single-storey lean-to on west gable end to south-west corner of rear garden.

Terraced seven-bay single-storey rubble stone house with dormer attic, built c.1830, possibly originally three houses, having detached single-storey pitched roofed outhouse to south-west corner of rear yard and detached single-storey outhouse south of gable end creating entrance gateway for densely overgrown rear yard. Pitched slate roof with black clay ridge tiles, three evenly spaced brick chimneystacks having simple over-sailing courses, and replacement metal gutters on timber fasciaboard fixed to exposed overhanging rafter ends and having cast-iron downpipes. Gabled wall dormers with fibre-cement tiles, decorative terracotta ridge, black clay finials and pierced decorative timber bargeboards. Painted, ruled-and-lined smooth rendered walls with small triangular render moulding above dormer windows and camber-arch window openings with side-hung timber casements, two-pane to dormer level and six-pane to ground floor level, all with painted stone sills. One-over-one pane timber sliding sash window visible to south gable end. Square-headed entrance doorway with replacement sheeted timber door in simple moulded timber frame. Painted, smooth rendered ruled-and-lined brick boundary wall to front garden, with wrought-iron railings held by square piers with chamfered and stopped arrises and cut-stone capping. Square-plan gate piers with cut-stone capping incorporated into south-east corner of house and north-east corner of single-storey outbuilding with steel-sheeted gates to rear yard. Pitched outbuilding with slate roof and stone walls with wide double-leaf timber-sheeted door to gable end at road.
