Description
Located on the central of three summits on an E-W drumlin ridge. A circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40-45m) is depicted only on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’. It was known locally as a fort (IFC: Schools’ MSS: vol. 941, 134), for which see this web-page accessed on 09/05/2018: https://www.duchas.ie/en/cbes No archaeological feature is visible at ground level in pasture. Description
Located in a slight col on the ridge of an E-W drumlin, with higher ground to the E and W and lower ground to the N and S. A small embanked earthwork (ext. diam. c. 20m) that is truncated by an ENE-WSW roadway at S is depicted on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’.
