Description
Small circular shaped site (max diam c. 11m) definited by a barely visible fosse and very low mound (diam. c. 5.5m, H c. 0.2m). Site only barely visible on ground surface. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). Description
Freestanding single-bay two-stage cylindrical windmill tower, c.1775, on a circular plan. Now in ruins. Random rubble limestone walls on random rubble limestone plinth with rough cut limestone coping to parapet. Square-headed opposing door openings with rough cut limestone voussoirs. Square-headed loops (upper stage). Interior in ruins. Set in field.
