Description
On the crest of a hill in pasture. A totally overgrown, level circular area (est. int. diam. c. 20m) is defined by three low, wide earthen banks with three intervening fosses (ext. diam. c. 64m). Description
In a narrow roadside strip of woodland, in mixed pasture and tillage. A slightly raised (H 1m) circular area (diam. c. 25m) is enclosed by a shallow fosse (D 0.75m; Wth 2.5-3m) and a low outer, earthen bank (H 0.7m; Wth 3m). Shown on the current ed. (1910) of the OS 6-inch map as a roughly circular field (diam. c. 50m) containing trees, immediately W of Gowran Grange House. However, neither it nor Gowran Grange House are recorded on the 1st. ed. (1838) of the map. It appears to be a late-19th /early-20th century landscape feature associated with the house.
