Description
The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Sub-circular area (int. dims. 28m E-W, 25m N-S) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 4.7m, H 0.9m internally, 1.9m externally) with facings of large stones. Bank gapped at ESE, SSW and WNW, but ancient entrance not recognisable owing to tree-planting of the bank and interior.

Single-arched stone road-over-rail bridge, built c. 1880. Rock-faced squared-and-snecked limestone walling, tooled limestone string course surmounted by intersecting cast-iron railings to parapet flanked by rock-faced limestone piers; squared-and-snecked limestone walling to east and west approach surmounted by tooled limestone coping. Rock-faced voussoirs to arch, prominent keystone. Bitmac surface to road.

Single-arch stone road-over-railway bridge, built c. 1880. Squared-and-snecked limestone walling to spandrels and parapet, ashlar string course and ashlar coping to parapet. Segmental-headed arch, rock-faced voussoirs, flanking engaged rock-faced pilasters. Bitmac surface to road.

Description
Detached seven-bay two-storey house, built c. 1760, formerly five-bay, extended by two-bays to west. Formerly T-plan, returns and extension to north and east elevations, gable-fronted porch to south elevation. Pitched slate roof, clay ridge tiles, smooth rendered corbelled chimneystacks, terracotta pots, moulded cast-iron gutters, circular cast-iron downpipes. Painted roughcast-rendered walling to south and west elevations, painted smooth rendered walling to north; round-headed blind recess to east of north elevation. Square-headed window openings, tooled limestone sills, painted timber sliding sash windows. Segmental-headed door opening, timber panelled door, sidelights and overlight, set within pitched roof porch. House set in own grounds, outbuildings and modern corrugated farm buildings to north, gateway to south-east, painted smooth rendered ruled-and-lined quadrant walls, square-profile piers, wrought-iron gates.
