  Description

  Situated on a gently undulating, low-lying landscape. The cropmarks of four enclosures are visible only on Apple Maps (2021). Three of them are intertwined, and the fourth is c. 50m to the NE. This isolated feature is a circular area (int. diam. c. 20m) defined by a wide ditch or fosse (Wth c. 5-8) but it has no identifiable uncut entrance causeway (ext. diam. c. 30m).   Situated on a gently undulating, low-lying landscape. The cropmarks of four enclosures are visible only on Apple Maps (2021). Three of them are intertwined, and the fourth is c. 50m to the NE. This is the most prominent of the intercutting features. It is a circular area (int. diam. c. 25m) defined by a wide fosse (Wth c. 1-3m), with a wide entrance (Wth c. 6m) at SE.   Situated on a gently undulating, low-lying landscape. The cropmarks of four enclosures are visible only on Apple Maps (2021). Three of them are intertwined, and the fourth is c. 50m to the NE. This is probably the largest of the intercutting features and is a circular area (diam. c. 25m) defined by a single slight fosse (Wth c. 1m). A large shapeless quarry that is probably a number of intercutting pits has damaged it at S. The cropmark of an unmapped NE-SW field drain runs through the three enclosures. • Mount Saint Frances, house, 1850–1890 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c. 1870. Square-plan, porch to west, single-storey extension to north. Hipped slate roof, clay ridge tiles, brick chimneystacks, flat capping, moulded aluminium gutters and square profile downpipes. Random rubble stone walling, smooth render and quoins to extension. Square-headed window opening, stone sills, red brick surrounds, painted timber three-over-six timber sliding sash windows to first floor, six-over-six timber sliding sash windows to ground floor. Square-headed door opening set in smooth rendered porch, stone balustrade to parapet, painted timber door with six flat panels, flanked by sidelights, wrought-iron bootscrapers flank entrance door. House situated in own grounds, smooth rendered piers, wrought-iron gates to north-west.

• Mount Pleasant Lime Works, kiln, 1810–1850 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached former lime kiln, built c. 1830, no longer in use. Irregular plan. Random rubble uncoursed stone walling. Triple arches, red brick surrounds, to west elevation for lime production; square-headed window and door openings to north elevation with red brick surrounds. Random rubble stone auxiliary structures to north with pitched and hipped slate and corrugated-iron roofing. Situated in overgrown site off main road.

• Mount Oliver Convent, country house, 1780–1820 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached thirteen-bay single- and two-storey former country house, built c. 1800, now in use as convent. Irregular plan, enlarged and remodelled c. 1850, two-storey central bay, pedimented entrance, flanked by single-storey balustraded bays to east and west of south elevation, two single-storey balustraded bows flanking two-storey central bay to east elevation, portico to central bay, two-storey canted bay to north elevation, multiple ranges of extensions to north, east and west, built c. 1950-2000. Roofs not visible behind balustrade to south elevation, stone coping to parapet; gutters hidden by parapet, circular cast-iron downpipes. Painted smooth rendered walling, plinths, raised and channelled block-and-start quoins, frieze and cornice to parapet. Square-headed window openings, painted moulded architraves, painted sills, cornices to east and west wings of south elevation and bows of east elevation; Wyatt window to pedimented bay of east elevation; painted timber six-over-six sliding sash windows, one-over-one sliding sash windows, and painted timber casement windows. Corinthian Portico, tooled limestone columns supporting painted smooth rendered frieze, cornice and pediment; square-headed door opening, painted smooth rendered moulded surround surmounted by frieze and cornice, flanked by sidelights; painted timber panelled double doors c. 1950, polychromatic tiled entrance platform accessed by granite step; square-headed door opening to west wing of south elevation, painted smooth rendered moulded surround, painted timber glazed panelled doors, tripartite overlight, approached by three granite steps; square-headed door opening to central bay of east elevation, painted smooth rendered surround, engaged columns flanked by sidelights, supporting frieze and cornice, painted timber and glazed door, five granite steps to entrance; square-headed door opening to north of east elevation, painted smooth rendered moulded surround, painted timber glazed panelled door. Situated within own grounds, outbuilding c. 1780 to north-west now in domestic use, hipped slate roof, random rubble stone walling, arcading to ground floor, red brick surrounds to openings. Entrance gateways to north and south; smooth rendered channelled piers to south flanked by modern railings on painted plinth, long avenue leading to house flanked by wrought-iron railings.
