Description
The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Circular enclosure (max. diam. c. 40m) defined by cropmark ring on aerial photograph (CUCAP, AJY 38).
- LH017-062001 Enclosure
Description
According to local information gathered in 1967 by Peter Danaher (ASI) this field was called the 'Liss field'. This suggests there may have been a ringfort-type enclosure here although it may be confused with the enclosure to the S (LH017-061----) which is visible on an aerial photograph (CUCAP AJY 38). It was also claimed there was a 'cave' in the field (LH017-062002-). Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 21 June 2012
