  Description

  See field inspection report (diary NF7, 125-7) (SMR file). According to the report, this is a levelled enclosure.

• KE038-102 Standing stone
  Description

  'Now used as a gatepost beside a farmhouse, this stone was taken from its in situ position, adjacent to the western end of the above cairn (KE038-101----) and set up in this new location in the late 1940's (local information). The stone itself measures 1.85m in height, and is 0.35m by 0.18m at base. The base of this stone is rectangular in plan, and the stone itself is somewhat rectangular in shape, although it does taper to a narrow point, measuring 0.08m by 0.05m at its tip.' • KE038-160 Enclosure
  Description

  'These sites are situated on top of a limestone reef approximately 300m to the west of the cairn/complex [KE038-101----]. These sites have been much denuded because of an attempt to reclaim this reef which is located on a large dairy farm, and have been much trampled by cattle. Also a substantial N-S running stone wall has neatly bisected this reef, and probably utilised stone from the enclosures and banks in its construction. The top of this reef affords unobstructed views in all directions, but the dominant aspect is primarily southwards. A curving bank occurs at the south-eastern side of the reef, running for c. 8.00m from south- west to north-east. It has a maximum height of 1.40m, a maximum width of 6.50m and is 0.30m high internally. The stone in this bank is a mixture of limestone and red sandstone. A scatter of stone is evident externally to the bank, which may represent slippage. This may represent the remains of a bank which surrounded this small knoll, and can be partially traced on the western side of the field wall for a distance of c. 5.00m.'   Description

  'These sites are situated on top of a limestone reef approximately 300m to the west of the cairn/complex [KE038-101----]. These sites have been much denuded because of an attempt to reclaim this reef which is located on a large dairy farm, and have been much trampled by cattle. Also a substantial N-S running stone wall has neatly bisected this reef, and probably utilised stone from the enclosures and banks in its construction. The top of this reef affords unobstructed views in all directions, but the dominant aspect is primarily southwards........a possible barrow occurs on the north-eastern side of the knoll, and is now very overgrown and denuded, and has been truncated by the field wall. A subcircular ditch, 2.00m in width and 0.30m in depth encloses what appears to be a low mound now very overgrown, 12.0m in diameter and rises to 0.60m above the bottom of the ditch.'   'These sites are situated on top of a limestone reef approximately 300m to the west of the cairn/complex [KE038-101----]. These sites have been much denuded because of an attempt to reclaim this reef which is located on a large dairy farm, and have been much trampled by cattle. Also a substantial N-S running stone wall has neatly bisected this reef, and probably utilised stone from the enclosures and banks in its construction. The top of this reef affords unobstructed views in all directions, but the dominant aspect is primarily southwards......in the field to the west of the field wall is a semi-recumbent limestone slab 1.50m in length, 0.50m in width and 1.00m in height.   'These sites are situated on top of a limestone reef approximately 300m to the west of the cairn/complex [KE038-101----]. These sites have been much denuded because of an attempt to reclaim this reef which is located on a large dairy farm, and have been much trampled by cattle. Also a substantial N-S running stone wall has neatly bisected this reef, and probably utilised stone from the enclosures and banks in its construction. The top of this reef affords unobstructed views in all directions, but the dominant aspect is primarily southwards........to the south of this [KE038-163----] is a circular hollow 10.0m in diameter and 0.50m deep. Because of the overgrowth it is impossible to determine if there is an enclosing element surrounding this hollow. A large amount of loose limestone is scattered in this area.'
