Description
Terraced three-bay two-storey house built c.1870. The house is finished in unpainted lined render with moulded quoins. The panelled timber door is framed with pilasters with console brackets, a plain fanlight and is set within a semi-circular headed opening with a heavy moulded surround with keystone motif. The flat-headed window openings have two over two timber sash frames. The pitched roof is finished with artificial slate and uPVC rainwater goods and has rendered chimneystacks with corbelled caps and clay chimney pots; some original serrated clay ridge tiles. The house is road fronted and is set within an eight house planned terrace.

Description
Semi-detached five-bay two-storey pair of houses, built c.1880. To the centre of the houses is a canted flat-roofed projecting porch which comprises two ‘back to back’ porches. The houses are finished in unpainted lined render with quoins; render to the porch is rusticated. The timber front doors are to the side of the porch. Window openings are flat-headed with broad surrounds and one over one timber sash frames. The pitched roof is slated with cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered chimneystacks have corbelled caps and clay pots. The house is set back slightly behind a low rendered wall and wrought-iron gate.

Description
Detached four-bay two-storey Railway Station, built 1863. The building is finished in roughcast render with surrounds to the openings; to the north and south are small lean-to and flat-roofed recent additions. The timber sheeted door opening on to the platform is set below a gabled bracketed roof. Window openings are flat-headed and mainly with two over two timber sash frames. The pitched roof is covered with slate and has cast-iron rainwater goods. Chimneystacks are rendered with corbelled caps and clay pots. The station is to the south of the town centre.Detached five-bay two-storey signal box built c.1900. The box is entered from the recent footbridge. Finished in painted timber and with a shallow barrel vaulted roof, it sits to the south of the platform.Internally the original manual levers appear to be all intact and fully functional.Detached three-bay single-storey engine shed, built c.1850. Constructed in roughly squared semi-coursed basalt rubble with granite quoins. The double timber sheeted doors are set within segmental arch-headed brick-dressed openings. The roof structure is substantially intact but the slate has been removed.

Description
Semi-detached three-bay two-storey Domestic Revival style pair of houses, built c.1900. The houses are rendered with rusticated finish to the ground floor, dry dash finish to the first floor and with moulded quoins. Each is double-gabled. The northern house has a panelled door with plain fanlight and both are set within a flat-headed opening; and framed with a open gabled porch supported on timber brackets. To the south is a projecting square bay while to the north is a small canted bay with a stone corbelled roof. Window openings are all flat-headed with some transomed and others timber sash frames and broad window surrounds. The pitched roof is covered with artificial slate and chimneystacks have corbelled caps and clay pots; these are finished in brick and render. Each gable expresses a different truss style; that to the porch is a cross over, while that to the south is a king-post and that to the north a wagon roof style. The house to the north is undergoing renovation and the for sale sign and construction machinery both obscure the façade.

Description
Detached four-bay two-storey former school, built 1878, and now in use as a house. The building is finished in roughcast render with a projecting two-storey gabled bay to the south side. The front door is now covered with a glazed porch addition which abuts a flat-roofed addition. Window openings are flat-headed with replacement timber windows many of which are top hung. The pitched roof is finished with artificial slate with serrated clay ridge tiles and uPVC rainwater goods; chimneystacks are rendered with replacement concrete copes and clay pots. The gables have decorative bargeboards formed as king post trusses. The building is slightly set back behind a low rendered wall and the former playground is still in evidence.
