Description
Internal diam. 32m N-S, 41m E-W. An oval platform enclosed by a fosse 1.5m wide and 15cms deep and an outer earthen bank up to 1m in height. It is not clear if there was ever an inner bank. Along the N sector, the outer bank is only a few cms high. To the ENE there are slight indications of an outer fosse. One gap to the NW is 4m wide and a second to the E is 3.6m wide. It is not clear if either was an original entrance. The interior is level but marshy. It is situated in slightly wet pasture commanding a view of Donegal Bay to the S. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983).
