Description
On the W-facing slope of a broad hill. Circular grass and rush-covered area (diam. 26m N-S; 24m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.4-4.2m; int. H 0.1m at W to 0.6-0.9m E-S; ext. H 0.7-0.8m) and fosse (Wth of top 4.2m at E to 7.6m at W; Wth of base 2m generally to 4.6m at W; D 0.2m). An outer bank (Wth 2-2.5m; int. H 0.2-0.7m; ext. H 0.2m) SE-W-NW also circumscribes the S part of rath (RO028-090002-) which is conjoined to the E. There is no identifiable original entrance. Rath (RO028-091----) is c. 30m to the SW. Description
On the W-facing slope of a broad hill. D-shaped grass and rush-covered area (dims 29m E-W; 28m N-S) with straight sides at N and W defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2-3m; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 0.5-1m) and fosse (Wth of top 4.6m; Wth of base 2.5m; ext. D 0.5m) on all sides except the N where there is a low scarp. There is no identifiable original entrance, but an outer bank (Wth c. 2.5m; ext. H 0.2m) SE-SW also circumscribes rath (RO028-090001-), which is immediately to the W. Description
Marked only on the 1930 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a chord of a bank curving SE-W-NW, and situated on the gentle W-facing slope of a broad hill. An arc (C 26m) of an earthen bank (Wth 3-3.5m; int. Description
On a slight SE-facing slope. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 33.8m N-S; 30.2m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.6m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.4m) SSE-SW which is best preserved where overlain by a field wall SW-NNW (Wth 3m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 09m). An outer fosse (Wth of base 3m; D 0.5m) and outer bank (Wth 2.5m; ext. H 0.1m) also survive SW-NNW. The perimeter is formed by an E-W field bank (Wth of base 3.6m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.9m) at N and a N-S field bank at E (Wth 3.7m; int. H 0.9m; ext. H 0.8m).
