Description
In pasture, on gentle SW-facing slope, just below top of hill. Circular area (diam. c. 30m) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank encased within dry-stone wall which acts as field boundary (Wth 1.8m; int. H 1.05m; ext. H 1.05m). Dry-stone wall denuded NNE->E exposing earth-and-stone bank at its core. Wall is mostly ruinous with loose stone scattered around base. Gap (Wth 8m) in wall at ESE, flanked by stone pillar at S side. Interior is covered by trees. Enclosure incorporated into E side of small field with shed and house c. 70m to E. Description
On gentle rise, in undulating pasture. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. However, it is now evident as circular area (diam. 36m) defined by scarped edge (H 0.45m; Wth 2.7m), with external fosse (Wth 1.6m; D 0.1m) E->NW. Description
In pasture, on gentle N-facing slope. Circular area (25.5m N-S; 26m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.5m). Bank dips to negligible height at SE (Wth 6.5m). External fosse (Wth 1.4m; D 0.15m) is evident all round apart from 6.5m stretch at SE. Interior, under pasture, rises gently towards centre. Description
In reclaimed pasture, on E-facing slope. Roughly circular area (28m N-S; 29.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.6m) N->SSW and defined by scarped edge (H 0.35m; Wth 3.15m) SSW->N, with external fosse (D 0.2m: Wth 1.9m) NE->SSW and SW->NW. Bank is covered in places by fallen trees. Fosse clipped slightly by field boundary a NW. Interior under pasture and slopes down to E; surface has been churned up by sheep who are fed here.
