Description
The castle was marked on the Down Survey (1655-6) map, approximately on the site of Neillstown House which was formerly located N of the present 9th lock on the Grand Canal. Described in the Civil survey (1654-6) as 'the ruins of an old castle', (Simington 1945, 292). The site has been built on. Not visible at ground level. Description

Detached two-storey house, c. 1900, uPVC casement windows in roughcast rendered walls with pitched slate roof and gable-fronted porch to west. Modern extensions.

Detached single-storey house, c.1860, currently unoccupied. Smooth rendered walls with boarded-up windows. Steeply pitched slate roof with central chimney stack. Gabled projecting porch to west.

Description
Single arch road bridge over railway, c.1860. Three-centred arch with dressed voussoir stones. Coursed squared limestone parapets at road level, raised with coursed squared granite. Limestone rubble retaining walls either side of bridge.

Description
Detached multiple-bay single-storey house, c.1885, on a U-shaped plan with diagonally set projections to corners flanking central projecting gabled glazed porch with timber panelled doors. Rendered, ruled and lined walls with quoins to rere. Timber sash windows. Pitched slate roof with perforated cresting and finials, and simple timber bargeboards. Extension to western wing.

Description
Detached single-storey former gate lodge c. 1820, now in use as a house. Pebble dashed southern wall with two fixed light timber windows in lancet openings, forming flanking screen wall of gateway. Single-bay lodge within, with roughcast rendered walls, glazed timber door having brick surround, and pitched slate roof with decorative bands. Original building extended by the addition of a replica range to the north. Further flat-roofed extensions beyond.
