  On NW-facing slope of a low ridge surrounded by rock outcrop. Circular cashel (D 45m) defined by a low grassed-over drystone wall, no visible surface trace of which survives from SSW to WSW.   Description

  In undulating scrubland and rock outcrop. This Nat. Mon., a fairly well-preserved large rectangular bawn (ENE-WSW 67m, ESE-WNW 48.3m, H 1.8m) is built of undressed mortared stone. A collapsed entrance (Wth c. 1.1m) lies at ENE. There are two opposing circular turrets (D c. 2.5m) in E and W angles; that at E is best preserved and is two storeys high; five gun loops survive on both floors. A garderobe chute is visible beside it in SE wall. Five gun loops are also evident in W turret. Centrally placed within the interior are the remains of a rectangular house (GA057-067003-: NNE-SSE; L 12.2m, Wth 5.9m ext.), and near N corner the grassed-over foundation lines of associated rectangular outbuildings (GA057-067004-). The monument is surrounded by an extensive field system (GA057-067002-).   In level grassland surrounding a plantation bawn (GA057-067001-). Aerial reconnaissance in July 1968 (CUCAP AVN 2) brought to light a series of irregular field boundaries covering an area c. 750m by c. 500m. No visible surface trace survives.   Within a field system (GA057-067002-). Poorly preserved subcircular enclosure (N-S 53m) defined by a curving grassed-over collapsed stone wall from NW through E to SW. A field wall cuts the monument at NW and SW, and no visible surface trace survives to W of it. A number of houses (GA057-067006-) are associated.   Within the interior of enclosure (GA057-067005-) are the remains of two similar rectangular houses defined by grassed-over collapsed walls with an internal division: (a) at E (N-S; L 9m, Wth 5m), and (b) at S (N-S; L 11.5m, Wth 4m). To SE of the latter, two smaller rectangular houses are visible: (c) (E-W; L 6m, Wth 5m) and (d) (N-S; L 11m, Wth 3m). Finally, immediately outside the enclosure to S is a small circular house (D 5m) defined by a collapsed wall.   Some 250m SE of an extensive field system (GA057-067002-). Circular ringfort (D 53.5m), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. There is a stone-lined entrance at SSE.   Description

  In SW quadrant of ringfort (GA057-068----). An L-shaped drystone souterrain consisting of two chambers connected by a drop-hole creep. Access to the 1st chamber (L 7.35m, Wth 1.29m), which runs ESE-WNW, is gained via a small opening at ESE end. Grassed-over foundation stones visible to ESE of this point suggest that the chamber extended further in this direction. The drop-hole creep (L 2.4m, Wth 0.83 max. H 0.78m), running off SW wall, at WNW end, leads to the 2nd chamber (L 8.25m, Wth 1.61m) which runs NME-SSW.   On a slight rise in an area of rock outcrop close to S extremity of an extensive field system (GA057-067001-). A poorly preserved roughly circular area (D 7.1m) defined by a grassed-over collapsed stone wall. Possible external wall-facing survives at W. A rubble-filled pit (D 1.3m) in W sector may originally have been stone-lined, and there is a D-shaped hollow (L 1.8m Wth 1.5m) in N sector. A plantation bawn (GA057-067002-) lies c. 100m to NE.   Description

  On level recently reclaimed pastureland. Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a slightly oval enclosure (c. 40m by c. 35m) but evidently gone by time of 3rd ed. (1933). No visible surface trace survives. According to local information, it was known locally as a 'cashel' and apparently contained a limekiln.
