Description

Description
Detached L-plan three-bay two-storey over basement country house, built c.1790 but modified c.1830, having three-bay east side elevation, two-storey return to rear (south) elevation, and single and two-storey extensions to rear. Hipped slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, and cut limestone eaves course. Rendered walls with openings of front and middle openings of east elevation set in recessed panels. Square-headed window openings with timber sliding sash windows, three-over-six pane to first floor, double two-over-four pane window to central bay of front, and nine-over-six pane to ground floor, with tooled limestone sills throughout. Square-headed door opening with double-leaf timber panelled door, with margined glazing and tooled limestone steps. Ranges of single and two-storey outbuildings to south-west of site ranged around courtyard, having slate and artificial slate roofs and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rubble limestone walls to seven-bay south-west range, middle bay being two-storey and having segmental carriage arch. Rendered walls to north-west range and dressed limestone walls to three-bay two-storey south-east range. Square-headed window openings with tooled limestone sills and mixed fixed timber fittings, timber casement and replacement uPVC windows throughout. Segmental-arched openings to south-east and south-west ranges. Set within own grounds. Gateway to road.

Description
Entrance gates to Hollypark House, erected c.1860. Cast-iron double-leaf gates flanked by cast-iron pedestrian gates, all flanked by tapering square-profile carved limestone piers having moulded capstones, cut-stone plinths,and with round-headed detail to front of shafts. Rounded limestone wheel guards to front. Rubble stone quadrant walls. Rubble stone boundary walls to gate lodge. Detached three-bay single-storey former gate lodge, built c.1860, with gabled porch to front (north-east) elevation and recent two-bay extension with pitched roof to rear. Pitched slate roof with cut limestone chimneystack. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows and tooled limestone sills. Square-headed door opening with replacement timber door.

Description
Freestanding gable-fronted Roman Catholic church, dated 1959, with tetrastyle portico to front (north-east) elevation, six-bay nave elevation, single-bay chancel, sacristy behind latter, and with square-plan three-stage bell tower attached to south-east end of front elevation, attached by above ground connecting passage. Pitched slate roof to nave, with cast-iron cross finials, cast-iron rainwater goods and render eaves course, render broken-based pediment to front gable. Hipped slate roof to chancel, flat roof to sacristy, and pyramidal sheet metal roof to tower. Pebbledashed walls with rendered plinth, carved limestone date plaque and flanking rendered pseudo-pilasters to front elevation. Square-headed window openings with leaded stained glass, triple windows to sacristy, oculus stained-glass windows to front and chancel gables, render sills throughout, with render surrounds to nave windows. Square-headed door opening with double-leaf timber panelled door having overlight, approached by concrete steps, set in rendered portico with cylindrical piers having capitals and surmounted by frieze and moulded cornice. Interior has marble altar furniture, rendered coffered ceiling, round chancel arch, timber panelled gallery, and timber confessional. Vehicular entrance to front of site without gates, flanked by steel pedestrian gates with flanking rendered piers, and pebbledashed boundary walls to front of site. Graveyard to rear of site with upstanding grave markers. Set back from road with lawns to front.
