  Description

  Built into cliff face on E shore of Millcove. Front wall collapsed, exposing barrel-shaped, stone-lined funnel (diam. 2.3m; H c.4m); few voussoirs of recess arch survive. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). • CO115-151 Children's burial ground
  Description

  In pasture, on an E-W ridge in Berehaven Golf Course. A roughly rectangular area (10m N-S; c. 8m E-W), known locally as a 'cillíneach' or children's burial ground. It contains uninscribed grave-markers (max. H 0.4m) generally orientated N-S. Quartz stones occur intermittently throughout the burial ground, which is maintained clear of overgrowth by Golf Club personnel, and a holly tree stands in the centre. Tall recently erected slabs, standing at intervals, mark the perimeter of the burial ground and there is also a modern cross-inscribed plaque inscribed 'An Cillineach RIP'.
