Description
In pasture, on N-facing slope overlooking Ballin Lough. Sub-rectangular flat-topped slab (2.55m x 1.55m; 0.6m T) resting above three support stones. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). Description
Detached double-pile gable-fronted staggered four-bay two-storey public house and house, built c.1870, with lean-to outbuilding to side (south) and extensions to side (north). Pitched slate and artificial slate roofs with rendered chimneystacks, cast-iron and uPVC rainwater goods, and timber bargeboards. Painted roughcast rendered walls with smooth rendered plinth. Square-headed openings with two-over-two (first floor) and two-over-one (ground floor) timber sliding sash windows having concrete sills. Square-headed door opening with timber glazed door. Shopfront consisting of timber pilasters supporting fascia and cornice, surrounding timber display and casement windows and square-headed door opening with timber panelled double-leaf doors and overlight.
