Description
At the bottom of a W-facing rise. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 49m E-W; 43m N-S) defined by an overgrown scarp (H 0.1-0.95m) with an outer fosse (Wth of top 3-4m; D 0.1m) E-S which was complete in 1972 when there was evidence of an inner bank (Gannon 1972). Description
Archaeological testing (00E0393) recorded an area of burnt stones overlying a porous pit which was excavated in advance of house-building. A second, adjacent, area of burnt stones (RO007-018003-) was preserved in situ c. 15m to the NE. Rath (RO007-018001-) is c. 100m to the NE. Description
An area of burnt limestone and sandstone was uncovered in archaeological testing (00E0393) on the subsoil in ground preparation for a housing scheme, and it is preserved in situ on a small D-shaped green (dims c. 35m NE-SW; c. 10m NW-SE) c. 15m NE of fulacht fia (RO007-018002-) and c. 80m SW of rath (RO006-018----). Description
On an E-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 32m) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3-4m; int. H 0.1-1m; max. ext. H 1m), which is reduced to a scarp (max. H 0.9m) E-S. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance. Fulacht fia (RO007-092----) is outside the perimeter at SE and rath (RO007-020----) is c. 170m to the S. Description
On top of a low rise. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 35.5m N-S; 32m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3-5.2m; int. H 0.3-0.75m; ext. H 0.3m at SE to 1.5m at W), with an outer fosse (Wth 3.5m to 5.5m at NW; D 0.2-0.8m) SSW-N-SE. There is no visible entrance but the bank is incorporated in a field bank N-E, and a NE-SW field bank has removed the fosse at S. Description
On a shelf on the S-facing slope of a rise. D-shaped or subrectangular grass-covered area (dims 38 NNW-SSE; 27m WSW-ENE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3-4.6m; int. H 0.25m generally to 0.75m at SSE; ext. H 0.3m at NNW to 1.1m at SSE) WNW-N-S and a scarp (H 0.6m) elsewhere, with an outer fosse (Wth of top 5-5.5m; D 0.2- 0.6m) WNW-NNE. Description
Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) on the 1837 and 1914 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated towards the top of the W-facing slope of small drumlin. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 23m E-W) defined by a scarp (H c. 0.2-1m) E-S-W which merges into the slope elsewhere. Modern farm buildings outside the perimeter W-N respect its line. Marked as an circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) on the 1837 and 1914 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on top of a small drumlin. Circular grass-covered area (int. diam. 20-21m) defined by a band of light vegetation (Wth 3-4m) on the site of the bank. Description
Towards the bottom of the N-facing slope of a low E-W ridge. A single chamber (dims 9m NW-SE; 1.55m NE-SW to 2m NE-SW at SE) now filled with field stones is defined by four stones (dims 1.25-2.15m x 0.15-0.4m; H 0.2-0.8m) on the NE side and two (dims 2.1m x 0.25-0.35m; H 0.3-1m) on the SW side. There is a single stone at NW (dims 1m x 0.3m; H 0.63m) and SE (dims 1.6m x 0.25m; H 0.25m). It may be a court tomb. Rath (RO007-025001-) is c. 140m to the SSW and enclosure (RO007-026----) is c. 140m to the SSE.
